Hopefully the father will explain that it was a one off and not acceptable, so the lads don't grow up thinking they can pee wherever they want.

I'd certainly like to think that. I'd be very disappointed if a father was teaching his LOs that peeing in public is acceptable.

Unless of course he happens to be French!!;)

I've seen many a Frenchman (usually a lorry driver peeing against the wheel of the lorry) having what's called a pee pee rustique. It seems to be so much of a habit there that supermarkets put 'Defense d'Uriner' signs on walls.

I have noticed those signs in Paris!

I would expect the father to at least teach them to hide behind the tree or a bush, wouldn't have cost him anything.

I think its disgusting. Having daughters i would not whip down their pants and let them squat in the street. I just dont get why its acceptable for boys. Learn to hold it, til you get to a loo. It seems to be common of late, i often see men on the side of the road, peeing up the bank, not even trying to hide behind a tree/bush

I saw a little girl peeing by a bin on the main road a few months ago. I was a little shocked, but presumably it's either that or wet her pants. I don't have kids, so I don't know what is normal.

I also saw an old man having a dump in our local park. He was right by the toilets, but they were shut (for some reason they close at weekends, which is when most people actually use the park).

I don't see any harm in this as long as the food is paid for at the till before you leave the shop.. I often do my shopping, and pop a bottle of water in the trolley, then drink it when I am shopping, and pay for it at the till.

I literally see no harm in it. I pay for it before I leave the shop.

We'll I agree with the poster before. I think you should buy stuff before you open and consume. Rightfully it's not yours until you've paid.

I don't think it's right that people just go in a shop choose eat drink etc and pay on their way out. It's bad manners and disrespectful.

A small child who is probably just out of nappies and weeing up against a wall, nothing wrong with that.
I wonder does the car driver have a dog that cocks its leg on a wall and that's perfectly acceptable.

Toddlers, no I wouldn't care. Grown men, yes I would. Hopefully the father will explain that it was a one off and not acceptable, so the lads don't grow up thinking they can pee wherever they want.
We used to have to walk home from nursery across the park, no loos, and yes, sometimes they were desperate. However, when it started to become a game to the boys I encouraged them NOT to use a tree! And we started to learn how to hang on ...

Small child urgency: DS1 hadn't been at school for very long, we only lived a five minute walk away, and I realised on the way home that he was in need of the loo, before I could get my key in the lock he'd wet himself in spectacular fashion!

Toddlers and potty training = needing to wee whenever. Perhaps these were early days away from a nearby potty.

Better things to worry about. :)

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)
  • You can't teach the boys as they are too small and they are still not aware about where to do peeing. He shouldn't be ashamed.
  • I insist my Grandsons (4 & 6) go for a pee & attempt to squeeze something out before leaving the house, if it may be some time before we can access a toilet again. Amazing how many times they both categorically state they don't need to go, yet 1/2 pint pours out when I insist they try.

Then if they need to go whilst out they have to hold it while we look for a loo. On occasions when the situation becomes REALLY desperate in the bushes/tree has had to suffice, but not for some time now they are getting older, there is a point where it's totally unacceptable IMO.

Interesting how, unless I missed it, we got to post #38 before someone mentioned DOGS! My neighbour always let her dog squirt up the lamppost right beside my driveway.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
