Toddlers peeing in public.

Options
I saw a father today with two boys, one was about 2.5 y.o and the second maybe a year older. They were on a side street, peeing against a tree. A man driving past slowed down and started shouting at him, words to the effect of how disgusting this was, before driving off. The poor dad just looked really embarassed, met my eyes and mumbled an apology to me. I said 'dont apologise, it's fine' but it got me thinking. Do people really find it offensive when little children are caught short or was this man the exception?

By a side street do you mean a residential street?

A small child, under 5 - and you ask whether or not its a residential street? What does it matter at such an early age?

It was a residential street leading off of a busy road.

He's lucky that the little boy was peeing into a tree. I walked down the road the other day and the little boy was just standing in the middle of the path, peeing everywhere. I wouldn't have battered an eyelid if he was doing it into the bush right next to him, not his fault of course, but I'm sure it would have only taken the mother a millisecond to turn the child round to face the bush instead of all over the pavement!

The car driver sounds a few slices short of a loaf. Taking his eye off the road and diverting his attention from where it should be, to throw vitriol at a sensible dad who had prevented his young son from getting caught short. The world has gone mad when there are those who are so easily offended by a little boy taking a whizz up a tree.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Just because I can't imagine it! I don't see anything weeing in public asuch, you know what little ones are like.
  • I bet the dad and his boys had been in the vicinity of a loo 10 minutes earlier, he'd asked they boys whether they needed a wee, they said "no", few mins later it's "Da-aad, I need a wee"!

It's just what toddlers do isn't it! Although I DO take offence to potties in places where people are eating!

I think its disgusting. Having daughters i would not whip down their pants and let them squat in the street. I just dont get why its acceptable for boys. Learn to hold it, til you get to a loo. It seems to be common of late, i often see men on the side of the road, peeing up the bank, not even trying to hide behind a tree/bush
  • More public toilets are needed-unfortunately it is often grown men who do this too! That is not acceptable.:(
