LLoyds TSB VISA - being finished

Two cards but one account with them
You get 1 airmile per £10 on the Amex card. For places that don't accept Amex you have the Mastercard but you only get 1 airmile per £ 50 spent.
I have them in my wallet just now, got 2000 airmiles since last August when they were introduced. Finding flights to spend them on is in my experience impossible but they have "special offers" that show you available dates (duh, they should do that with all the blasted flights), to Greece at the moment.
You can also use them an huge discounts on otherwise expensive hotels and can get wine (no idea how good or bad) too.
Something for nothing if you're spending on the cards anyway - but not as good as a 0% card IMO if you're wanting to stooze your own money.
So how does this work?
Do they assume it's an AMEX card if the retailer accepts AMEX and then switches to a mastercard if not?
Or do you tell them which "card" you want them to treat it as?
Or is it PHYSICALLY two cards but just one account?Best Regards,

I received no notification either.
Also my statements indicated I had nothing to pay last month, so I phoned their helpline and told them I was recording it.
They told me I had nothing to pay and it was down to the changing from visa to AMEX.
Guess what? Interest charges and late payment fees this month that they refused to admit was their fault until I played back the recording.
I also was told on the phone that my Amex card would have a different PIN code (no idea if this is also incorrect), but I haven't received a new one. And as a last straw, the Amex card doesn't seem to be accepted in most of the places I shop, which effectively halves my credit limit on my Lloyds cards.
Cancelling them both as they don't seem to know their a*se from their elbow.
Curious as to why you think this halves your credit limit ?
You have exactly the same limit, but the use of two cards !
You have the same original pin you've always had, the same pin for both cards.0 -

The latter, two cards one account !
As AMEX use a different card number sequence it is easily identifiable to LLoyds/Airmiles as to which card has been used, therfore mileage can be awarded correctly.0 -
I was offered an New AirMiles duo card and told that if i spent £10 in first month i would get bonus miles. Spent £65 on MC and two months later still no Airmiles - when i asked LloydsTSB about this they said I had to contact Air Miles as it was nothing to do with LloydsTSB. So both cards cut up and now using Delta card through MBNA - love my free flights - never owe money on my card.0

How long between getting your letter and then getting the cards?
They wrote to my wife in Feb saying if she didn't give a preference then they will switch her to the duo account. She never replied and awaited the new cards.......which have not arrived.
Does anyone know how long it took them to send them after the letter?
Thanks in advance,
