LLoyds TSB VISA - being finished

If you have any CPAs on your Visa you have to contact all companies and give them new card details. Lloyds ensured customers they don't have to do anything but CPAs were not trasferred to my new card and some payments stopped.0

Still haven't received anything and continue to receive my statements for the original platinum card, which I haven't used in months and I'll will now cancel (can you do this by phone, or do you have to do it in writing?)0

Hi - I'm new to the forum and need some advice on the new Lloyds TSB Duo credit cards that arrived in my post yesterday. Like previous posts on this thread, I never received any notification from Lloyds TSB. Arrgh!
I cant find anywhere any advice as to what this means for people like me who are being forced to move from a single Lloyds TSB Visa credit card. Didnt get much help from their call centre either. One card is all I need. I always pay my balance in full every month so does anyone know if the new Airmiles Duo cards (Mastercard or Amex versions) change anything if I pay in full every month?
Thanks0 -
Will this mean that they will be changing the debit system from VISA to MAESTRO?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

I think they've been really useless over this - I had exactly the same problem as you.
You should be able to have just one standard card if you want, rather than the AirMiles Duo, but you have to ring and request this.
However ,if you've already got the Airmiles Duo two cards, they are still actually one account, but with two cards (crazy IMO), use one or both as you want, and as long as the balance is paid off at the end of every month, there are no charges.
I've not used mine since this fiasco of a change over instead getting a Mastercard from John Lewis, giving me vouchers / cash back whenever I use it - it's simple, the customer service is good and the cash back is excellent.0 -

As you'd expect all the info you need is on the LLoyds site here
You are not being forced to have two cards. If you want just one all you have to do is tell them, but for the benefit of collecting Airmiles you're better off with the two.
LLoyds have been sending out notification of this change for nearly a year now. Obviously some people never got that ! The notification asked if you wanted one or two cards, those who didn't respond (for whatever reason)were given two, but that can be changed by a simple phonecall.
Nothing will have changed from your old card in regard of pin number, statement date, payment date etc. You still only get one bill.
The reason behind two cards is this. LLOYDS have changed their service provider to AMEX. As AMEX isn't as widely accepted as Mastercard it was thought that customers would be inconvenienced by this so were given the option of having just a Mastercard or both. Basically use the AMEX where accepted and use the Mastercard where AMEX isn't accepted. Simple !0 -

Two cards but one account with them
You get 1 airmile per £10 on the Amex card. For places that don't accept Amex you have the Mastercard but you only get 1 airmile per £ 50 spent.
I have them in my wallet just now, got 2000 airmiles since last August when they were introduced. Finding flights to spend them on is in my experience impossible but they have "special offers" that show you available dates (duh, they should do that with all the blasted flights), to Greece at the moment.
You can also use them an huge discounts on otherwise expensive hotels and can get wine (no idea how good or bad) too.
Something for nothing if you're spending on the cards anyway - but not as good as a 0% card IMO if you're wanting to stooze your own money."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Dear All,
They have created the cards for me too. I only found out when I logged on to my internet banking. I think, in this age of identity fraud, is it totally unacceptable for a bank to create credit cards without the express permission of the account holder. I have no cancelled all my cards and will use it as a good opportunity to have a financial sort out. Not involving Lloyds TSB!

I received no notification either.
Also my statements indicated I had nothing to pay last month, so I phoned their helpline and told them I was recording it.
They told me I had nothing to pay and it was down to the changing from visa to AMEX.
Guess what? Interest charges and late payment fees this month that they refused to admit was their fault until I played back the recording.
I also was told on the phone that my Amex card would have a different PIN code (no idea if this is also incorrect), but I haven't received a new one. And as a last straw, the Amex card doesn't seem to be accepted in most of the places I shop, which effectively halves my credit limit on my Lloyds cards.
Cancelling them both as they don't seem to know their a*se from their elbow.0
