Just a quick update, car is going up for sale, had some good and some bad times with it, it is just too expensive to run, 400 a month I am spending on it, could be lower but I have a heavy foot!
I paid 12,200 all together with it, I am taking the recaro sports out of it and putting standard ones and I will have £1300 cash on top of the swap, plus a few other mods on it, taken off will net me another £1500
Hoping to sell it for £12,000, plus my private numberplate for 3k that is specific to the car. £15,000 hopefully.
I am going to use the money to invest in some online ventures. This was just draining my money non stop.
Well that was worthwhile then. What a complete waste of time and money.
I thought the previous owner was taking the plate off? Or have you bought another one?
Good luck selling it. I think you're being optimistic, but there you go.0 -

Be very wary with online ventures. If you didn't realise buying this car was going to cost you a fortune to run, you might be in for a shock when your investments go wrong too.Did you buy it with all that carp on or add it yourself?
If it had it on when you bought it, what makes you think some mug is going to pay just £200 less than you did but with £1500 less [STRIKE]boy racer sh1te[/STRIKE] mods on it?
The boy racer stuff generally reduces the value, so if he can return it to stock he might be able to bring it up a bit. The fact he bought in Aberdeen and is selling in London will help too, but I think it's still optimistic.
OP - Does your £12200 include the flight, return fuel, insurance and interest? I'm genuinely curious to see if you can make money on it (it is entirely possible).0 -
Bought in Aberdeen and is selling in London
Birmingham, isn't it? Doubt the differential in price will be as significant between Aberdeen and Brum.
Perhaps the OP should move to London, sell the car, then move back to the Midlands? That would make about as much sense as the purchase of this R32 did.0 -
You're right, I don't know where I got London from, and you're probably correct about the price differential too. They are the deep south to us Scots anyway0
-
You spending 400quid a month on gogo juice or do you keep crashing it?0
-
Car prices in Aberdeen are generally high, many people who live there travel elsewhere in Scotland to buy their cars. I'd be surprised if prices for 'ordinary' cars are higher in Birmingham or London than they are in Aberdeen, although for less common cars like the OP's R32 it may be to his advantage if there are more potential buyers down south.0

By standard seats do you mean the proper R32 seats? if not then I very much doubt many people will be interested to be honest - would seem a bit dodgy.0 -

Absolutely correct - generally the further north the higher the price of used cars - not the other way round.
Last year I took the overnight bus from Aberdeen to Victoria in London to buy a car £900 cheaper than the identical spec and mileage one that the local dealers had.
Great deal - the bus only cost me £10
People in Orkney and Shetland think that Aberdeen prices are lower than they have on the islands - so they come down on the ferry to buy a 'cheap' car.
I've never heard of anyone who did it the other way.0 -
Economic prudence does not appear to be the OP's forte though does it?0
