Zeroamp, my mum owns a post office so I'll tell you exactly what you can do.
Royal mail *should* have all delivered Special Deliverys that were due to land on Wednesday without delay.
Deliverys due to land Today (Thursday) are suspended.
I phoned expansys and they said that if it handn't been delivered by 1pm, for me to ring them back (I haven't as yet) and sort it out.
That may be them applying for the money back, or sending me the certificate of postage, and allowing me to do it myself.
I'm quite pleased about it in all honesty.
If the option was there for free delivery, but the delivery this friday, instead of Wednesday then I would have chosen that anyway.
Think about it like that.
Was your order shipped on Tuesday for del on Wednesday OR Wednesday for del on Thursday?0 -
On that note.
Just had a chat with a very very unhelpful woman at expansys.
She said that she would be able to refund the full amount of the delivery, minus a charge of around £3. This would be to cover the cost that I would have been charged had I sent it recorded delivery.
I said that this was unacceptable, and she responded with "Well, you would have expected to pay for delvery one way or another"
Regardless of the fact that I paid for, and expected next day delivery, she was still wanting to charge me for recorded. Even though Recorded delivery is not available on orders over £40 (which I helpfully pointed out)
That is bad company policy in my books. Any other company I have dealt with operate late delivery = free delivery.
I said that it wasn't fair that I should still be charged delivery when Expansys would recieve a full refund on the postage. She stated that they would NOT get a full refund due to the strikes.
This is when I read out the official royal mail memo sent out to post offices.
"Special Delivery"
"For this week only, the Special Deivery guarantee will be suspended for items posted on Wednesday 1st August 2007 and those items due to be delivered on Thursday 2nd August 2007. Other Special Delivery services and guarantees are unaffected for this week"
She said she'd sent an email off to her manager, to enquire about a refund.
Also just spoke directly to royal mail who said that as long as the parcel is delivered, then I can make a claim without the senders help.
So, hopefully expansys will refund me the postage cost, and I can also claim it back from royal mail too.
Original cost:
£85.63
minus £10 voucher
£75.63
refunded expansys delivery of £6.54
£69.09
potentially refund from royal mail too (0.71kg = £6 special delivery)
£63.09
It's getting cheaper and cheaper.
Sorry for the long post.0 -

Hi,
My order was processed and shipped yesterday (Wednesday) and should have arrived today but didn't. So am I entitled to a refund from Royal Mail, and if so, how does one go about it?
Thanks,0 -
I am in the same boat and after a phone call and an email to Expansys only managed to get the extra £5 I paid for part delivery back and not the full postage cost. Lesson learnt and Expansys no more.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

Mine came today, very pleased with it, but having problems getting it on to our wanadoo wireless internet. It picks up the wanadoo, we put the wep code in, it appears to connect to the internet, but saying there are internet problems? Anyone got any ideas, our wanadoo internet is notorious for being a pain0

So unfortunately not, but you may well get a part refund on the postage from expansys.0 -
Aiadi, when the package comes you will be able to claim the cost directly back from Royal Mail. When it does come give them a ring and they will send you a claim form.0

Yes its an american 2 pin dual voltage adapter. Its also the newer type nokia adapter which is smaller. The other difference is that the Amp output is higher than the phone chargers.
***I can't guarantee how safe this is***
... but I've been quite happily running my american 2 pin charger using a 50p shaver adapter plug. A guy I was talking to in Maplin said that this shouldn't be done as shaver adapters are only supposed to be used with shavers, but it doesn't overheat and hasn't blown the 1 Amp fuse, so seems ok to me.0
