Given that the new system just seems to be a digital interface veneer on the creaky old DVLA systems, I seriously doubt that changing it to a daily basis is trivial.
I notice that the government have reduced the premium for buying six months tax from 10% to 5%, so its not all bad news on the VED front.0 -

Maybe they're using the little bit of extra revenue their getting from the "problem" here to do it?

But whats the point in getting upset about it?
They've reduced the 6 months tax premium to 5% so theres a saving right there for a lot of people who cant afford a full year at a time. Result!

How about detecting the non-tax payers? Are they going to install ANPR cameras on every road junction in the country, even out in the sticks?
They could simply use the existing Trafficmaster system. The blue cameras already use ANPR to track vehicles between poles (Although they would have you believe they only "store" 4 digits :rotfl:)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
