Yes Ive found that too.
Tried to use it in a KFC once but she said they didnt have it setup.0 -

Are sure it's a not a contactless card? They could have sent you a contactless card without the contactless symbol. I think you ought to try a contactless transaction to check!oldagetraveller wrote: »The replacement non-contactless card is exactly the same as the contactless version they originally sent. It just doesn't have the contactless indication on the front.

I think the people worrying about contactless need to find something else in their life to worry about.
Do you not fly because there is a small chance your plane could crash?
Do you not drive because there is small chance someone could crash into you?
Do you not eat out because there is a small chance you could get food poisoning?
The chance of fraud from owning a contactless card is minimal. If fraud occurs, you're covered by your bank.
Now, what can you complain about next?
Who's worrying or complaining ? I think you've got things back to front. It's important to feel secure in the knowledge your money is safe first to then be able to luxuriate about such negative things....0 -
I use my contactless Mastercard wherever I can. Never had any issues whatsoever.0

I actually wondered that!:D There's nowhere I use a debit card it could be tried, hence I have no need for one nor particularly want one.
When I 'phoned to change to a normal card I was given reassurances that any fraudulent transactions (e.g. from a lost card, cloned card etc.) would be re-imbursed in full without question(pull the other leg, it plays Beethoven's 5th). I suggested a scenario that a dodgy card holder could make purchases, report a lost card and then be refunded. No denial that could happen from the rep.:)0 -
The chips are completely different - a contactless card has a larger chip with more contact points than the traditional card. That said, I just love mine.0

Yes, it's called fraud and plenty of people do it.
You spend up big, you call them up and say "someone's stolen my card!" they send you a list of transactions, so you can tick the "fraudulent" ones you want refunded. Have to answer a bunch of questions ("have you posted your card number on the internet?") to prove you weren't completely negligent...As long as you've not nicked *thousands*, they'll probably not put any effort into finding out if it was you or not. Easy money.
Alternatively, fake a break in at your house and then claim for all the "stolen" things on insurance!
Or brake test someone and claim for whiplash!
If people want to steal stuff, they'll do it. Why would you expect a rep to deny that?0 -
I was sceptical at first, thinking I'd never use it but find them quicker (although it only takes a few seconds to type in a pin but I do prefer it).
I got one of those RFID blocking wallets too when I received my first contactless card as I was bit paranoid after watching some of those youtube videos seeing how they could get the card details.0 -
My Santander 123 credit card is nearing renewal, and the new card they sent me is a contactless card

Not majorly worried about the security issues, but have not seen any contactless paypoints down here anyway..
Rang local branch today, and they are arranging for a "normal" card to be sent out to me.0
