NoI think I got the wrong end of the stick here and was a bit quick to vote. I'm all for this, sorry for the confusion.0

Nois this the same sort of poll as the one asking for another BG?
anyway, i would rather have the stickies back. wouldnt that solve a lot of problems?0 -

YesI don't post in postals as much as I used to but I think a sub-forum is a great idea too
I also liked the idea what comping cat said about putting them on main forum and adding (postals/text) to the title like we do FB/Twitter etc. As miss Cinnabon said though it's a fast pacing forum and we may have a lot of post/text comps coming through onto the main forum.
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
YesThis is a great idea, thank you painkiller0

NoI think the postal thread is easy enough to find but agree that there should be a tick and cross on each post there.0

YesDefinitely YES
Painkiller has stated the principal advantages:Painkiller wrote: »Converting the Postal, Text & Phone thread into a sub-forum would allow you to click on enter (tick) or skip (cross) button for each individual competition.
Some other advantages are that it would also allow the postal, text and phone competitions to be sorted by newest post, thread start time, popularity etc...
Expired competitions could be moved to game over rather than being left on the board.
Duplicate posts could be merged into a single thread rather than being left to repeat the same info.
The sub-forum would also be easier to find as the link to the current thread is buried within the 3rd comment of a thread on the main board. Not sure how the changeover would work though, as presumably they'd need to be transferred from the postal thread into individual posts on a new board
Not a problem - existing posts do not need splitting into individual threads.
1) The existing thread can be moved in its entirety to the new sub-forum (and locked). It would become obsolete within a few weeks as the comps in it close.
2) Miss Cinnabon's guide in the first 6 posts can be moved to a new thread and made a sticky.
Several posts appear in the postals thread (eg. THIS ONE ) which say something like "No comps in this month's Snails Monthly" or "No comp in today's Daily Snail" and I can't see how these could be accommodated in a sub-forum unless it was in a "Chat" thread.

YesGreat idea. Could also do with a separate one for TV competitions as well.0

Thank you for all the votes and comments. Please keep them coming.
Just to be clear, for the moment this is just about Post/text/phone competitions, how we can help you find them more easily and help you be able to post more.
We've seen some of you would like one for social media competitions though and we'll think about getting everyone's opinions on that separately.
Meanwhile, could you help make sure any regular postal comp thread users have seen this and remind them on the thread if not? As you said, they're the ones that post regularly (pardon the pun!) and it's important to get their feedback.
Thank youCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Thank you
Post/text/phone presumably are confined to a single thread as they do not fit in with just about everything else on the main board which can be entered on-line whether it is via an entry form, TW, FB, Rafflecopter, e-mail, pinterest etc etc.
A separate sub-forum for them should allow the same functionality as the main board (tick/cross/game over etc), there is no such gain to be made by splitting off the various different on-line entry methods.0
