Post, text and phone competitions sub-board?

Hi everyone
Someone's suggested we have a separate sub-board for postal, text and phone comps.
We'd like to get others' opinions on that. Would it help to have them all separate or is it easier for you to find them in one thread?
Can you vote in the poll and let us know what you think?
We're not promising we'll do it if the yes vote comes out top but we'll use the poll results as a gauge of overall opinion when considering it
Thanks!

Should there be a sub-board for postal, phone and text competitions? 219 votes

YesI wish there was a way of clicking a 'no' or a cross button on these individual ones on postals. I started only ticking the thanks on the ones I entered, but found I was reading through ones added after that more than once. I've now taken to clicking thanks on them all so I know where I'm up to (do have alerts set, but can't always open them).
Don't suppose there's any way to do that...?
Thanks
Jx
PS Like the thought of a separate board as I can never find these postals easily and always have to open through alerts or the page which is saved to my faves.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
YesConverting the Postal, Text & Phone thread into a sub-forum would allow you to click on enter (tick) or skip (cross) button for each individual competition hazyjo.
Some other advantages are that it would also allow the postal, text and phone competitions to be sorted by newest post, thread start time, popularity etc...
Expired competitions could be moved to game over rather than being left on the board.
Duplicate posts could be merged into a single thread rather than being left to repeat the same info.
The sub-forum would also be easier to find as the link to the current thread is buried within the 3rd comment of a thread on the main board.0 -
Yesthis is a fab idea! much needed especially now with all the extra ITV comps coming over to postal.
It can get confusing as to where you are up to and if you have entered them or not."I've been drunk for about a week now, and i thought it might sober me up to sit in a library." Great Gatsby - F Scott Fitzgerald

YesI subscribe to this thread at present which sends me a daily update of new posts. I'm not sure how a sub forum works, or where to find it ? Will I still be able to subscribe for updates ?
Thanks to all the lovely posters and admins x0 -
YesA great idea. It would be much more efficient than the present arrangement. Thank you Painkiller.0

The sub-forums are 'I Won I Won I Won', 'Game Over', 'Regular Competitions' and 'Comper's Chat Corner' so it would presumably be listed with them.
You can subscribe to forums/sub-forums and choose either daily or weekly updates.0 -
Yessounds a great idea Painkiller :j
Would there be threads for the different sites ie ITV, Channel4, Channel5, Real People, My Weekly, Weeky News etc (to name but a few) and new comps added on the end of each, or how would it be portioned up?
and could there be a chat only thread to keep keep chat off of the main threads?#StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year0 -

Ideally each individual competition would have it's own thread. For example, This Morning & Loose Women would be separate threads like they were on the main board. Hopefully expired competitions could then be removed to Game Over.
I think there should be at least two stickies in the new sub-forum;
- Miss Cinnabons guide from the first 6 comments of the current thread
- A chat thread specifically related to postal, text & phone comps0 -
YesI'd be happy to see the "purchase required comps" put into this new sub forum too.0

NoA lot of the new users of the forum don't end up discovering sub-forums until really late. I think they might miss out, if they are not well-alerted to the presence of the new sub-forum, if we have one for postals, etc.
(I often see members who've been here months say they didn't realise there was a Regulars Forum..).
In principle, I think it would be nice to tick and cross, as for the normal comps, so I am partly in favour of a new sub-forum. But on the basis of others (especially newbies) potentially missing out, I've voted 'no'.0
