Infact I am probably wrong, but they have the word 'stirling' printed on them, dont they?
I don't think so. Have you ever tried to get a London cabbie, for example, to take a Scottish note? (No, neither have I, but I have heard that they aren't accepted - or at least, I can imagine they'd think whoever was offering them one to be strange.) As I understand it, Scottish notes are not legal tender in either England (or Wales/N.I.) or Scotland but that they are generally accepted in Scotland.
Which is also a point about the only requirement for anything to function as 'money', is that of acceptance.
I see your 'joke', if it is that, re. "Stirling". Of course it is pounds sterling but Stirling is a place in Scotland.

New Zealand I believe. Come to think of it in the UK it's only the GB poilice that are unarmed. The NI police have been armed since the ark. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Scottish notes of same value could continue to be issued, and doubtless would, in Scotland. Is anyone suggesting current "Scottish pounds", i.e. notes issued by Scottish banks, are accepted outside Scotland now anyway? It would be no change. The pound is a secure currency for Scotland to take.
And as for the "dishonesty", I've already addressed this in my mentions about the pound in my posts earlier tonight. (I've also dealt with the 'lender of last resort' concept - banks already technically locate to England and therefore risk there avoided through banks' own actions.)
Myself, I see the "vow" as "dishonest" - and consisting mainly, if not solely, of general "values" that can be interpreted any way anyone chooses and so vague and imprecise. Just a last-ditch attempt to get support for a "No" vote.
I am scottish and wass voting no but after researching more i have changed my mind
Did Scotland not have the £pound before the English so really they should change:rotfl:If Scotland did get rid of the pound surely with the influx of notes going to England it would devalue the value?
Scotland as a country pay alot into England and it has been said that we would be richer off without English-maybe not straight away but we have loads going for us, the description being used is that Scotland is the battered wife and England the husband who is now saying dont leave me. . if England was better off i am sure plenty of politicians would be saying so but instead they are pushing the better together and making last minute promises
If it is a no vote i think we might be punished for daring to vote for independence .
If yes England can get their nuclear arms to f**** -the suggestion that they should go to Portsmouth has been laughed at as it would harm too many english people but its okay for where it is currently -would wipe out most of scotland. England also changed the water borders in secret so that english waters go way up into Scotland - again if this went to court this would have to be given back as it was changed without our consent .. i could go on£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
