How do you know for sure that the person in question did it, or that it was even done on purpose? What if he's innocent? What if someone does post the name and it's wrong?
The fact that this person has been released on bail and that the police are appealing for more information indicates that there is no certainty as to what exactly happened.
This sort of lynch mob mentality before anyone knows the facts is disgusting and dangerous.
I am as upset as anyone else about the dogs. I love animals as much as anyone here and support all sorts of charities but wishing that sort of harm on another human being without knowing the facts is just awful.

He's been arrested and released on bail. Police wouldn't be allowed to impose bail if there wasn't enough evidence for a good chance of a conviction.
The circumstances are that he was attacked by a dog prior to this. I was attacked and bitten by dogs on 3 separate occasions when I was aged 4, 5 and 10. Two of those resulted in hospital visits. I don't harbour resentment to dogs for it so it's no excuse for what this boy did.
I'm happy to reserve judgement until there's a conviction however. Not that I believe a conviction will equal punishment. It will be a slap on the wrist and a short stay in a youth detention holiday camp, and upon release a transfer for the whole family to a new home with a change of identity, all at the expense of the tax payer
Edit this is the link that says he's been bailed

You can be on bail & have none nowt wrong... Being on bail means nowt apart from police don't have enough evidence to charge you.
I was once on bail I'd done nothing wrong & wasn't charged .Ignore reality. There's nothing you can do about it.
I have done reading too!

I'm not wishing to get into a big debate about it. I tend to take 90% of what I read in the media with a huge pinch of salt, and anything I read anywhere else like FB for example with a mountain of it.
Guilty or innocent, punishing people with violence is just wrong and solves absolutely nothing. Some of the things I have read about what people would like to see happen to a child......and that's what he is......are quite honestly frightening.0 -

Just as well there wasn't a lynch mob around baying for your blood then DeeDee!
And of course you're right. People are often mistakenly arrested, charged, even jailed. I just worked on a series that featured three miscarriages of justice. We had to limit it to three but there are so so many out there. Some of them broke my heart to hear.
There are some strong feelings going on. Doesn't mean you're soft on this kind of thing or don't care because you recognise the shades of grey....Debt free 6th December 2014

100% in agreement true justice will never be seen for those dogs and to all the innocent until proven guilty brigade I can guarantee that you weren't there hearing those poor souls screaming or the eerie silence when they stopped screaming the police know he did it cos of evidence they already have they just need more time to make sure a conviction is secured and its not surprising the whole family have had to be moved to a place of safety cos the whole of Harpurhey and beyond knows the truth:(
