I can’t sleep. I’m upset about the dogs at Manchester dogs home, amongst other things. I’m not normally controversial but I really need to get a few things off my chest and quite honestly I don’t care if it offends anyone because I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinions. Someone asked if we’ve got our priorities our right. Who is to decide if humans are more important than animals? Isn’t it upto each individual to decide if they would like to donate to animal or people charities. Me personally, I care more about animals and would rather help them than people. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about people. I get upset also when I hear that bad things have happened to people. However it saddens me to see that people rarely choose to donate to animal charities on TV programmes when they have a choice of charity. The only celebrity I’ve ever seen donate to animals is Simon Cowell, he always helps dogs.

I never donate to medical research charities because the money is used to fund animal experiments which do nothing to help humans. I don’t intend to get into a debate about this but it’s something I feel very strongly about and I spent several years researching this so I know what I’m talking about.

Also I’d like to point out that many people have tough lives and suffer abuse but they mostly don’t then decide to commit acts of atrocity against other living beings, and I don’t see how this would give them a licence to do so. I really don’t think that the person who burned those poor dogs has a hope of becoming a reasonable human being who is not a threat to others and therefore he should be removed from society forever IMO. The softly softly approach doesn’t work. We released John Venables back into society and he went on to hurt more people. He never should have been released.

I hope that people post the name of the monster who killed those dogs on social media. I’m sure they will, and I’ll be glad when someone delivers appropriate justice for the little b*****d, as you can be sure the law won’t punish him adequately

Rant over, I’ll go try get some sleep now!

:( How do you know for sure that the person in question did it, or that it was even done on purpose? What if he's innocent? What if someone does post the name and it's wrong?
The fact that this person has been released on bail and that the police are appealing for more information indicates that there is no certainty as to what exactly happened.

This sort of lynch mob mentality before anyone knows the facts is disgusting and dangerous.

I am as upset as anyone else about the dogs. I love animals as much as anyone here and support all sorts of charities but wishing that sort of harm on another human being without knowing the facts is just awful.

    Afternoon all

In sainsbobs this morning I found 2 notebooks with green plastic covers on the reduced section, no SEL so I took them to the SS tills and they went through for 20p each :T
I was just saying yesterday I need to find new notebooks so I can write down all of the info Elite and keep on top of everything :)
I used my original nectar which has had a spell on it for the last 4 months but it gave me a conditional spend for a £40 spend - first till spit - so maybe the spell has been lifted :D

And then I found 20p in the coin tray !

It made me think about the Christmas shoe boxes - its on the list of rainy day jobs to do a deep search of the house for sticky pads, shop list pads, any sort of notepad or paper.
A programme last week showed an African village which had a building for school and a teacher but they were so short of equipment the children had no paper so they wrote on their legs.
Things like that bring you up short.
I know the boxes go mostly to Eastern Europe, not Africa but it makes you wonder if conditions in schools are the same, very little stationary so the more we can tuck into corners in the boxes the better.

Please can I ask has anyone bought Cornettos for Shopotize in an Asda shop?

They are on offer in Morrisons for 99p but both times our little store has been out of stock - pity they don't do rainy day vouchers :)
