Hovis biscuits (for the cheese)
Betty's items, very Yorkshire!
Dobsons sweets are from Elland (West Yorks)
Have a look at Lewis and Cooper website or Campbells of Leyburn I think?

I am contemplating making my OH a milkshake hamper for part of his Christmas present (it is our first Christmas together) as he absolutely loves strawberry milkshakes (kid at heart and loves chocolates and sweets) and I have found a good value retro milkshake maker online. Does anyone have any other ideas for what I might put in it?
Or should I just go for the standard toiletries and clothes gift for him? Is the milkshake hamper too 'out there' for a 29 year old guy?
Any advice would be extremely helpful! Thanks
Personally I think the milkshake hamper is a lot more thoughtful and personal than the standard things. I am sure he will love it.
You could get a book on milkshake recipes, Amazon have a few and I think I saw one in the Works. Then pick up some of the non perishable ingredients to go with it, things like syrups and sprinkles. Milkshake glasses, I have seen a few on Amazon, Straws, maybe some retro coasters or some with a favourite character. Cookies to go with the milkshakes.0 -
Smookie for your hampers
Friend and 3 Kids You could make it a stay cosy outdoors theme, you can pick up inexpensive hat and glove sets maybe get some Trail Mix, Warm socks, the gel Hand warmers and maybe some hot chocolate and mini marshmallows to warm up when they get back.
Your sister and BF I am in Northern Ireland and my DH cycles and he has a Collins book called Cycling in the North of Ireland, you might be able to find it online, he got it at a local shop, Easons (like WH Smith) DH always appreciates cycling socks and I got him cycling padded underwear lol Maybe something for when they come in from cycling, maybe some muscle soak or massage oil. Decathlon have a lot of reasonably priced cycling bits and pieces.
Niece and Nephew I make my friends children a rainy Day hamper every Christmas and it goes down well. I put in colouring books, puzzle books, blank paper, colouring pencils, a few craft kits, a board game, sweets, milkshake straws, books ( I try to include one that has activies, like last year I got them a kitchen science experiment book which went down well) and a couple of small toys like wind up figures. Home bargains has plenty of things reasonably priced. I have a Skylanders blanket and some pyjamas to put in it this year as well.0 -
Ikea had some nice old fashioned style glasses in cream or pink I think in store
Fancy straws, like the stripy paper ones in Home Bargains, or the straws that have the flavour in when you sup the milk. Sachets of milkshake mix. What about biscuits, chocolate or popcorn to go with it???
Thank you so much for the idea - he would love those glasses! I am going in search of the straws - they would go perfectly with the retro look of the milkshake makers! I am thinking of getting some popcorn that you can pop at home with a selection of the seasonings as well - thank you!Trying to make my way on my MSE adventure.. Debt free since June 2018:j

Thank you for the support - I hope it is something he will appreciate instead of just the standard things! I love the idea of the milkshake book - I will look in the Works this weekend, and I might make some homemade cookies to pop in with the hamper! Hello and welcome to the thread
I think your idea for a milkshake hamper sounds brilliant and as someone else said (sorry, can't remember who! - just checked and it was Calcat!) it's much more thoughtful.
You'll have to get some whipped cream for the top! you could investigate various flavours and recipes and make sure you have everything you need to make at least one flavour without having to go to the shops to get all the necessary bits and bobs.
I wonder if you can get some weird and wonderful flavours. you should try and casually find out what his favourite flavours are
Everyone's ideas for accompaniments are fab, you'll have loads of ideas0 -
PenguinofDeath and Deely, thanks for the great ideas! I had looked at CAMRA membership, and they seem to be doing a deal where if you buy gift membership you can get the Good Beer Guide at a reduced rate. I think he would absolutely love a traditional tankard! And I might put in some homemade vouchers for Brewery Tours for when we go away in our Campervan on weekend trips!
Calcat, you are a legend! I am unashamedly going to use all of those ideas : D I can ship the book you suggested from America (Can’t find it in any UK based online shops) but have found some free PDF leaflets that I will print off and laminate from the Sustrans network which is a bit more MSE0 -

Agreed, everyone's ideas are brilliant! So glad I decided to join the forum and ask for some help! His favourite flavour is definitely strawberry so going to focus on getting some of the things to make a strawberry milkshake - the whipped cream suggestion would work perfectly! He absolutely loves Crispy M&M's as well, so going to try and be inventive and come up with something using them!Trying to make my way on my MSE adventure.. Debt free since June 2018:j
