My first post on this thread, so hello
I'm making a 'December hamper' for my family - my mum LOVES Christmas (she's watching Christmas films on Xmas 24 every weekend), so I thought I'd spread the festive joy out a bit by preparing something for her to rummage through on 1st December.
I've managed to find lots of bits in sales, including some Winter room spray from The White Company (bought in the summer sale), some Yankee Candle votives (sale), some chocolate coins (50p), some hot chocolate sachets (four for £1), a big Arran throw (Very sale), some Body Shop festive soaps (January sale) and a Christmas film (a couple of £ on Amazon). Going to get a couple of the reindeer-named Coke bottles and maybe a Christmas magazine and then I'm done! It's all going to be packaged up in a lovely wicker hamper I picked up from Whittards for £7ish at Gunwharf Quays, which will double up as a picnic hamper in the summer
I'll post a pic when it's all assembled!0 -
how intriguing, please let us know if you find out what they are. A few years ago, Cadbury's did a box of individual 'chunks' of liquid-ish choc covered in chocolate which you stirred into a mug of hot milk and they were delicious. If they are anything like that, then I'll be getting a few for stocking fillers.
Hoping to pop to my local thorntons in the next couple days so i shall let people know if i find out! They sound really nice tho and i think would be perfect for a christmas treat. As for the cadburys that sounds really nice, i love cadburys and even have the pods for my tassimo
I only have a couple small bits left to get to finish off my hampers now, i still need to get some bits for a couples hamper though.
I noticed in matalan they have letter mugs for £2, i'm planning on buying 2 for my couples hamper with their initial on, they've also got hot choccie in a couple different flavours and a mini bottle of shloer each. They don't drink alcohol and not much coffee so decided to do a chilled night in hamper. Also picked up some cinema sweet butterkist popcorn for £1 and some mini green + blacks selection choccie for £2 on offer. Hoping to upload photos this week once i've got the shredding in the boxes
Getting very excited for christmas now :rotfl:0 -
I love the hello kitty hamper!!
Also the sound of a festive hamper, I must brainwash someone into doing this for me!
I have everything for the teachers hamper but the chocs arrived and they are in a box with kids stocking fillers so unopened until little eyes are sleeping

I was in B&M today and got a pair of polar fleece blankets for £3.99.

I got the biscuit and cream and I am going to use them to line a couple of my hamper bases. Good for cosy nights or pamper hampers. They have other colours.
They also have a decent variety of boxes. This one for £1 might suit someone

Hi All for those making chocolate hampers try morrisons for chocolate swizzle sticks. You use them like a spoon for stiring into hot chocolate but the choclate melts making it lush
Last year I made Lindt hampers..Buy the posh Lindt hamper boxes from any Lindt shop, they come in 3 diferent sizes complete with Lindt Ribbon and tissue paper then go home and bargains etc for the lindt chocolate. I bought 5 pack Lindt choc reindeers / snowmen last year for £2.99 selling in Lindt shop for £4.99, then try looking in supermarkets also for offers on boxed Lindt chocs often 2 for £6..I spent about £20 but looked amazing daughters were delighted !! :j0 -
Also made grandparents a fruit hamper..big basket of fruit including date figs nuts etc aswell as unusual fruits alongside regular fruit also threw in a couple of tinned fruit too0
