  • His favourite flavour is definitely strawberry so going to focus on getting some of the things to make a strawberry milkshake - the whipped cream suggestion would work perfectly!

Could always get some fresh strawberries to mix into it as well, or to go on top of the whipped cream?

He absolutely loves Crispy M&M's as well, so going to try and be inventive and come up with something using them!

mmm crispy M&M's are a good choice - I wonder whether you could use a food processor to blitz them and add them to the milkshake to give a bit of crunchy texture? :)

Genius idea!! I think the milkshake maker I am going to buy will be able to blitz them perfectly - thanks!

Just a quick drop in today - said last week i would investigate the 'hot chocolate bombs' from thorntons....

well, after a trek to my local i read the packaging and they are what they sound. It's quite a heavy box and from the instructions you warm a mug of milk and add 2 'bombs', stir and theres your hot choccie. It's made with dark chocolate, 60 or 70% i can't remember.

Would still make a nice gift for a hamper :) hths the people i spoke to last week!

    Hi All

I am looking at doing a Yorkshire food hamper for Mum & Dad for Xmas, all suggestions gratefully received.

    cheers Muppet

Fox's Biscuits are made in Yorkshire.
There are also quite a few chocolate makers, like http://www.ryeburn.com/chocolate_boxes.php
i have used the above before and the staff were really helpful when i told them what people couldnt eat - like nuts, alcohol etc

Ooh I love a good hamper!

I'm doing one for most of the people I know this year (things are a bit tighter than last year...) and each of them will have something different in to personalise, but here are the main things I'll be including:

Picallili - I made this last year and it was DELICIOUS: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/jamie-s-piccalilli/

Chicken liver pate with sage: http://www.thekitchn.com/recipe-chicken-liver-pate-with-sage-apple-and-thyme-179840

Biscuits for cheese (taken from Delicious mag and now online): http://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/biscuits-for-cheese

Homemade "peppermint patties" (or chunky after eights to you and me): http://chocolatechocolateandmore.com/2014/06/homemade-peppermint-patties/

Chilli jam (from How To Be A Domestic Goddess by Nigela, but I found it online too): http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/chilli-jam-2692

Also, me and the other half have been brewing some cherry beer and blackberry cider (got to love some thrifty hedgerow-bothering!) so that will be ready for the hampers too :)

    Oh, I'm so excited! :j

I really want to make my mum a hamper this year but struggling slightly to think of ideas for a "theme" or maybe I could just do an unthemed one  She's hard to buy for - allergic to soaps & perfumes so I can't buy anything like bath products, makeup, skincare products etc. She also has a gluten intolerance & is vegetarian.

I found this scarf on Amazon which has great reviews & is only £1.58, so I might start off with that as she likes scarves :) Anyone got any other ideas to add to it?

You could try Aveeno they do body oil/cream/hand lotion/bath stuff for very sensitive skin
