Bonnie, we have a hulking great dy$on and it works on black pet hair on a fawn carpet as well as my long hair strands. I do have to clip the long hair off the pick-up roller on a pretty regular basis, but with a dy$on that's pretty easy and their website provides really easy guidance on how to do so.
    Better is good enough.

I have a Henry with pet attachment.. I've just invested in a 2500w vacuum seeing as they are no longer being sold in the EU.. and in 2017 its being reduced to 900w maximum..

Girls fed.. knitting this dress.. only 4inches left to do.. I might have it finished tomorrow.. :)

Girls back from KHs tonight.. poor hard done to creature has a holiday to go to.. 3rd this year I think..

    Afternoon all

Grocery delivery away, Mr A contacted as there is a missing item. I always do it by email so I can chase up if necessary, much better than trying to do it over the phone ;) Second wash load in and nearly done, using the TD as its towels and I can't currently get out into the yarden due to stuff piled in the way from the livingroom :o DD engrossed in reading her book (She's just read Philosophers stone in about 6 hours so is on to Chamber of Secrets now). I've done a rough Kl33n3z3 order but will go back through it later tonight before I write it on the form to rid it of the impulse buys ;) Now I'm watching the Christmas cookery programmes and noting down any recipes we fancy trying...not many thankfully so far ;) However DD's favourite chef has just come on so I expect the list is about to grow lol

Today I want to get the colours on the walls touched up (the brown paint is showing up the wobbly edges :(), get DD to paint the one wall which still needs a second coat, put some things back, put the final coat of gloss on the fire surround, and sort out what bookcases/shelves I need to order still. But first, lunch as all these cookery programmes are making me hungry :rotfl:
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Question: What is the best vacuum for picking up hair?

DD and I both have long thick hair. It gets everywhere. My current, cheap vacuum doesn't touch it - I had a D*son before but it died :(

Would I be better off getting a pet vacuum?!

    Thanks for any suggestions x
We've just got a Dys0n Animal DC25, to replace the ancient and venerable Dys0n that wasn't doing it's job properly anymore. It's great! It's upright (vital for me, I can't manage a cylinder type), bagless, fairly lightweight (important for me to be able to use it), deals with all manner of dog hair from Ted's stiff wires to Bailey's long flouncy fluff and everything in between, and also copes with my waist-length hair which literally falls out in clumps during lupus flares. There's a little plastic knob to turn to release the roller bar, and the bar comes out completely to get the long hair off it.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Just popping in to say " hi" and home. Bit bashed about and nauseous but I'll survive. Won't be around much this week, need rest as not really eaten since Thu.
Hope you're all ok, I've not read back x
