DD and I both have long thick hair. It gets everywhere. My current, cheap vacuum doesn't touch it - I had a D*son before but it died
Would I be better off getting a pet vacuum?!
Thanks for any suggestions x
We have a wiry haired terrier. He sheds constantly and his hair seems to embed itself into furniture and carpets. I had a Dyson, then an expensive, posh, pet friendly, superfiltration Vax - which just glided over his hairs. Eventually I bought a Henry and love it. At last I have something that works!0 -
Morning flyladies. Up early on a Sunday as I have to take DD to a course today then I'm going to cinema with DS (free tickets, very MSE). Just having breakfast, then I need to make DD a packed lunch, get chicken in the slow cooker, shower and walk the dogs.
Best get moving. Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Had a great day yesterday - the sculpture exhibition was superb (especially Damian Hirst's stunning angels)
We went along to Gloucester Cathedral yesterday afternoon to see the exhibition - and a general wander around the Cathedral, which DH and I both love. I think some of my favourite pieces were the pear, the tortoise and the snail - and the water piece in the Cathedral and the 'pretend' water (mirror) in the cloisters

DD and I both have long hair - very fine, but an awful lot of it and we both 'moult' massively. I used to have to brush up the hair with a stiff brush to get it out of the carpets every couple of months. We now have 2 Dys0ns (allergy ones as opposed to pet ones) and find they work well - although I'm forever having to strip all of our hair off the rotating bars in the heads!

Morning all
Party last night was a good chance to catch up with people I've not seen in a good few years. I'm a lightweight so only drank one glass of fizz and home before midnight.
Today's plan:
[STRIKE]Decide on something for dinner (and go and buy it)[/STRIKE]
Hoover just about everywhere
[STRIKE]Change another bed
Sweep up plums
Cut the grass if it stays dry[/STRIKE]
Do my mother's tax return
Ironing
DS3 has homework - cover books
[STRIKE]DH wants to put a coat of paint on the doors[/STRIKE]The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Hello everyone,
I think life is slowing down a smidgen now the kids are back to school.
I conquered the ironing mountain yesterday but have 6 loads of washing to do today so the ironing pile will mushroom again. DH hoovered all downstairs and the stairs and landing. I've run a duster about the place. Must clean the windows in the next few days.
Ds2 and 3 have football matches this morning. DS1 is refereeing DS3's game. The cricket club has a fun day, I sold raffle tickets in the high street with a friend for 2 hours yesterday. We took over £120!
I've taken on a second job, the extra money is going in my Christmas fund.
I hope you all have a good day.0 -
Morning all! Done a load of washing and that's now drying on my airer. Done all the ironing too so all uniform is ready for tomorrow. S is wanting to go to the allotment; think it might be a good idea for me to get a bit more exercise. Have to do an early lunch as then have to take J to the railway station to get the train to get the plane to go to Paris for the week
. I would like to try to vacuum today as it looks like people have been walking around with muddy shoes on - again.
Mumto5 6 loads of washing - wow! Well done on the raffle ticket selling too
Bonnie we have a Dyson Animal and I love it - it really gets all the hairs up; the other Bosch we had just couldn't hack it so has been relegated to the garage now to vacuum out the cars.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
My new Vax Air Reach (U90 MA R) is proving a whizz at lifting EVERYTHING. And there's a 'hatch' to get at the brush bar anda channel to cut hair off - well two actually - I snip then run and the hair whizzes up into the chamber. I use to have to hand brush the carpets too - not any more!
3 lots of washing on line. Am planning on cleaning litter tray *gets peg for nose* shortly.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
