Hi, having to reset my laptop( for the second) time as won't connect to Internet. I hate windows 8.1 which it automatically updated to last week. Need to turn automatic updates off this time. This is my first time posting from my phone. Will post menu once laptop is up and running again.

I've had the same problem with Windows 8 - I hate, hate, hate it:( Wish I'd kept the old laptop with Windows 7 on it!

  • Anyone got any suggestions for something to take to the Christmas party? I was thinking pineapple and cheese (low fat) on sticks.

I always make sticky hoisin sausages from SW extra easy entertaining book. They always go quick in my group. If you want the recipe let me know

  • And I'm declaring a....STS for this week. again.

Though similar to last week it's better than I probably deserve!

Desperately trying to get back in my groove but life just puts in some stumbling blocks sometimes doesn't it?!

Today so far; no breakfast, cup of coffee at the event, a mugshot, can of vimto zero, chocolate digestive
Tonight I will have my chicken in white wine sauce (syns in sauce, forgot to check how many :( ) with rice and some mixed veg and be done at that

Tomorrow we are off to the Trafford Centre; will be sure to eat breakfast before we go, we take bottles of water/NAS squash everywhere anyway and will try to make the best possible decisions at lunch and possibly tea depending on how late we expect to be back ...

plan for the weekend is usual date night Saturday night, bf has basketball Sunday but I will remember to take fruit and eat before we go so I'm not tempted by sausage and egg sandwiches on big white rolls.

Next week is all as usual and bf is away so only eating freezer meals with added salad in a bid to shift the rest of my slinky for Santa challenge target by Christmas week! need it for a morale boost now I've had 2/3 STS in a row!

Yes that'd be great, I'm guessing it involves 1 syn sausages and if I put them on sticks, should be good. Must be the one recipe book I don't have as I don't entertain

I often make SW chocolate brownies - they go down well as they are only 0.5 syn each if you follow the recipe and have a lovely bitter chocolate taste. I usually make mine in a square tin rather than individual ones and cut them smaller so you can usually have 2-3 squares for 0.5 syn which means just having one at a taster is negligible syns.

We have made the brownies for a couple of tastings now and they always go down a treat.

Well done on your loss tweets.:T Hope you get that shiney next week.

Waiting for carpet cleaner to arrive (around 5.30) so will probably be eating around 7.30 tonight :(. Got some lo mince with extra veggies in so I think it will be a bit of pasta to go with that so it shouldn't take too long to get ready.

Well done on your loss tweets :T

Thank you all for your suggestions - we didn't have lunch in the end although I'd still have struggled as we are veggies ;)

Did have a drink and my willpower failed - croissants are lovely. Can I drop half the syns if my baby boy ate a bite or two? :o

Most importantly though, I have some new clothes, including a lovely coat from Next, and I fitted into stuff that I was trying in a size 14, which I haven't seen in a long time :j

Good evening, I am doing my Friday menu plan to night...

    B. Yoghurt strawberries, banana, B toast and damson jam + 3 Syns

    L. Cheese Half of A toastie 6 Syns tomatoes, pickles.

Snack clementine,2 morning coffee 3 Syns

    D. Fish fingers ????? Syns s/w chips, peas. Apple.

    Supper. Strawberries, options 2 Syns

    A 1/2 milk 1/2 cheese B toast
11 plus fish finger Syns.:eek:
Water, lemon and lime water NAS.
  • Here is the recipe for sticky hoisin sausages:-

    Each sausage is:-

    1.5 syns on EE
    1.5 syns on original
    2 syns on green

    20 pork cocktail sausages
2 level tbsp. hoisin sauce (4 syns)
    4 tbsp. tomato puree
    4 tbsp. dark soy sauce
    1/4 tsp sweetener
1/4 tsp dried red chilli flakes

Preheat the oven to 180c/fan 160c/gas 4. Place the sausages in a large mixing bowl.

Mix together the hoisin sauce, tomato puree, soy sauce, sweetener and chilli flakes. Pour over the sausages and toss to mix well.

Place the sausages in a single layer in a roasting tin lined with baking parchment. Roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until sticky and cooked through.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

I use 2 packs of Tesco healthy living Cumberland sausages and cut each sausage into 4 pieces instead of the pork cocktail sausages and then just put a container of cocktail sticks on the table so everyone can help themselves. I would syn these sausage pieces as 0.5 syn each.

    Hope this helps
