however this thread is doing wonders for my opinion of M. Poirot and M. Broccoli.

    Was that the intention?

I don't understand why people make such sweeping generalisations about online dating when they don't do the same regarding other methods of meeting people. If they met someone in a club and it didn't work out they don't say "I will never go out with anyone I met in a club again" but tend to forego online dating after one bad experience.

I met my husband online, the fact our relationship works is nothing to do with the way we met.

    I like you

I think you're a softie at heart, even though you put the tough act on.

You're not actually "dating in the real world" - you're accosting random women in the street.

If you want to meet a woman with whom you are likely to form a connection and share common interests/likes/outlook then you are far more likely to be successful by talking to people at places/events that interest you ie hobbies, workplace, through other friends.

Complimenting someone on their shoes in the street isn't real life dating, it's just weird.

I cant decide whether to be horrified and appalled or whether to cry laughing.

Please stop this, its hard enough being female sometimes and having random nutters accost you in pubs when they are drunk to have Gok Wan compliment you on your shoes when you are shopping for deodorant in Tesco.

Stop, before someone complains about you, for your own sake.

. I think you just might have revealed something rather damning about yourself, kingslayer. Something that would cause you a hell of a lot of problems in relationships.
Do you ever take a woman at face value? Or do you project your own interpretation onto every woman you meet?

Okay, I won't talk about daygaming. It wasn't my fault this time, people were trying to steer the thread off course. I didn't create this thread to talk about me, anyway.
