Well done pickle - super proud of you!!!!

Isn't it weird how amazing it makes you feel when you suddenly realise you're finally on top of things??!!

Congrats from me to Pickle too :j:j:j

Trudi, what were you doing awake at such an ungodly time? hope everything well with you et al. :)

I have really slipped backwards in the last couple of weeks, this coupled with an angry and sore allergy type rash on my face meaning that I can hardly use any of my facial stuff (and the reason for buying more gentle things) means that I will not graduate in skincare for years and years:(

Think I need to do some lists, back later with confessions:o

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. I did end up spending on toiletries at weekend however none were for me. Went to the Trafford Centre with Emma and my sister. Was armed with a voucher that MrM had received from L'Occitane for a free shower gel with a spend of £40.00 which was a bit dangerous! When I got there though I was told that the shower gel had to be a male one however the SA said they had another offer whereby if you spent £35.00 you got £10.00 off. I had gone in there anyway with the intention of buying my sister's birthday and Christmas presents and a birthday present for my friend at work. Emma then talked me into buying a candle for her. At this point the SA relented and said I could have both offers as he would put the items through as two transactions.

    So I bought:-

Lavender bath soak and a gift set of Lavender hand wash and lotion for my sister for both her birthday and Christmas presents. This earned me the free shower gel - got the Vetiver one for MrM.

Lavender hand cream for friend and Cherry Blossom candle of which I got £10.00 reduced.

They chucked in quite a few samples as well.

My sister bought my Christmas present from there as well : Jasmine & Bergamot shower gel, body lotion and soap. Love this fragrance so looking forward to them. Does anyone else think it's awful that I steered her towards buying me something I would use? Last year she bought me a china mug and key ring from Harrods which she thought were lovely presents because of the cost of them. I asked her not to buy anything like that again as I just don't need any more key rings (she collects them for some strange reason and uses them all on her house keys! - looks like a jailor when she pulls this huge bundle of key rings out of her bag!) or mugs for that matter. She seemed a bit haughty when I said this but I just don't see the point and thought it was better that I was honest.

That was all that I bought - didn't even go into Boots. Went into Lush but was disappointed that none of the new items had been released yet.

So I have another UU from the weekend too:-

Clinique foaming face wash. I don't like foaming cleansers and was using this to double wash after using my Elemis one. I like the soapy feel but don't like cleansers that I can't take over my eyes. This came as part of GWP so didn't buy but would not go out and buy.

Have a Clinque Liquid Soap to open next to use as my nighttime cleanser.

I have now cut open the tube of Urban Retreat Exfoliator and plan to UU it on Wednesday this week. That will be my PP for September finished which I'm quite pleased about.

Have a couple of items to make up a very small PP list for the rest of the month which I know will be UUed:-

Decleor Hydra Floral - 5ml tube
Cotton wool pads - am on last pack
Soap & Glory Scrub of your Life - have cut this tube open and will probably UU on Wednesday

    Have a great day everyone.

    Well done inapickle.

I have made progress in some areas such as facial cleansers, moisturisers, eye make up remover and bubble bath but have gone backwards with shower gel, body lotion and shampoo.

Valm - My MIL is the same with keyrings, she has them fastened all over her bag too.

    I have two uu

Korres Mint Tea Body Milk 200ml, WBA and have already bought two more, I love this a lot, it is a cream rather than a milk though but it smells like green tea and mint and it leaves my skin silky.

Elemis Pro Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm 15ml, I have several minis and a full size of this in the stash to use before I think about buying again.

I have a little PP list of things I am hoping to finish before the end of the month too:

    No7 Body Butter
Clarins Multi Active Night Cream 30ml
Ren Omega 3 Night Serum 15ml
    Lancome Visionnaire 5ml
    L'occitane Vanilla Hand Cream 30ml
    Avon Nail & Cuticle Oil
Molton Brown Bath & Shower Gel 50ml
    Liz Earle Moisturiser 50ml

I would love to finish a foundation soon too, I have three on the go and they just last forever.

  • Well done InAPickle! You are a big inspiration and prove that you can do it, even if you have a few slip ups along the way…*ahem*

    INS: 6
Imperial Leather Bath foam had no bubble bath at all, and I love baths so this was necessary in my eyes!

Cien body milk for ultra dry skin Again, had no body cream at home (have one bottle in my gym bag) so picked up a cheapy from Lidl. Really thick and greasy, but I quite like that as I only use it before bed anyway, so I like to get greased up!

Hemp seed oil finished my baby oil so bought this for oil cleansing. Really like it so far!

Calendula Cream The eczema on my eyelids came back the other week so I ordered this off amazon in desperation as it worked so well last time. Is a really nice cream to use and my eczema cleared up, but now I have two face moisturisers to use up instead of the one.

OST C20 serum This is a vitmain C serum that I had heard really good things about. I usually make my own but wanted to try one to see if it is any difference. Oh my god, I love it! This might be HG guys!

Hada Labi Gokujyun super hyaluronic acid lotion This is to replace my Bioderma Hydrabio Serum when it runs out. Shouldn't be long now (I hope!)

    UUS: 2
L'Oreal Studio Matte and Messy Salt Spray – WNBA, I hated this stuff! The spray nozzle broke and it stinks of alcohol!

Avon Magix Face Perfecter – WMBA, worked well and I've been using it a lot recently as my SPF is so greasy and this really helps mattify.

Hopefully there will be a few more UU's coming soon (please!)
    No more goo hoarding!

  • well done pickle, a brilliant achievement!!!!

    and in and an out
used up the last of a bottle of skin therapy eye make up remover i got this really cheap from i think morrys, and have replaced it with a skin therapy one from wilcos i think its the same one but the formula seems to have changed, original bottle just looked like water and worked fantastically new bottle seems to be more oily as it as a clear layer an and a pale blue layer floating on top of each other. only £2 so hoping its as good as the last one.

i did buy a load of bathbombs at the boot on sunday but they were new ones im going to be gifting at christmas so they wont be added to the stash.

  • Well done Pickle :j That's great news!

I have a few INs and 1 Out

    Out:
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea body moisturiser - WMBA - TK Maxx purchase so good price, wouldn't go out of my way to buy again but did smell nice.

I also have cut open my tube of Clinique redness solutions cleanser so that should be finished in the next couple of days to be replaced by....

    INS:

Aubrey Calming Cleanser and separate toner - I have seen good results from using the moisturiser for redness and these are paraben free so i'm going to see how I go with these.

I was a bit naughty as well...getting a bit ticked off with the L'oreal eye make-up remover so on a spur of the moment purchase I bought my fave Lancome Bi-facil eye makeup remover;) although it was from ebay (new & full size) and also came with some little GWP sized serums and creams all for £13inc postage so i was chuffed with that! Considering the bi-facil on its own is £21:D

Still plodding on with the shower gels, now using a Joules one which was from a xmas gift set and only got a Sanctuary citrus one to go and then THAT'S IT! I am free to buy whichever shower gel I like! Hurrah! Elemis sharp shower and Ren Rose Otto are at the top of the treat list.
  • Well done Pickle! You made some really good points, and I totally agree re decluttering - I often feel massively overwhelmed by my toiletries stash. The amount of cash tied upin it is horrendous, too - lots of small-ish amounts which really do add up :o

    I have a freebie IN:

9/199. Garnier Miracle Skin Cream 5ml

One of the problem areas in my stash is facial skincare - it takes me aaaages to get through face moisturiser. So this really hasn't helped matters!

Hope everyone's well and had a good weekend x

I'm the same. I'm doing ok at getting through cleansers/moisturisers but am still drowning in shower gel!

I too have a few minis of the Elemis Flash Balm and whilst I've used some and enjoyed using it, I don't really think my skin needs it as it doesn't do much.

Really must get around to posting some of these items on fb or gumtree.

Oh oh I went a bit crazy with Sally Hansen polish today... Ooops! Bought three for 8 € each .. so I saved 6 € since they're normally 10 €. I got "All fired up", "Back to the Fuchsia" and "Shell we dance". What can I say, I love nail polish :o:p

But I also have a few TA:

P2 Lipstick in "Be Natural": Looks like a nude but when I put it on my lips it looks like a brown. Well... yeah I think you get the point.

2x P2 eyebrow pencil in "Stylish Blonde": I don't know it looks like a camel color and is totally NOT my eyebrow shade.

So long story short: 3 INs and 3 OUTs. :T
