Thank you. I didn't know H&S could wash it out. It is supposed to be permanent :( ideally a mid to light brown, not mahogany like it's came out like

Sorry you've had a dyeing disaster :( Been there, done that, ruined the tshirt with dye spills :D Have you considered a colour remover, like ColourB4 or Scott Cornwall Decolour Remover? As it's only been one dye application, it should shift quite easily.

If you haven't used them before, they can be a bit finicky to get the best results -- I'll refrain from waxing lyrical just this once ;) but I've used them a good few times before and can proffer some advice if you'd like it :)

Only 1 UU this week; Maybelline BB Cream. WNBA didn't particularly like the coverage or the overall tone of my skin. Bought last summer so pleased to see it gone.

My Prada purse spray size bottle is almost out too. Got another four to replace it with.

    Nothing much else doing. :-/

  • Hi Ladies,

I've had a few UU since i haven't posted in a couple of weeks

Nivea Eye make-up remover - WMBA- did the job with my Clinique mascara but not the Benefit 'They're Real' just kinda smeared it over my face with that one but I know from other people that the Benefit mascara is a pain to get off anyway! I'm using a Loreal Micellar eye make-up remover gel at the moment which isn't as good as Nivea and even further away from my HG Lancome Bi-Facil which I may have to treat myself to:eek:

Bioderma Micellar Waters Cleaneser - WMBA - Did like this for a quick cleanse and removing make-up it did a good job but need something better for redness as it didn't reduce this.

Tresemme Colour Fade Protection Shampoo - WDNBA - this was a proper LHJ and I hated every shampoo, probably had a couple of applications left but I couldn't bear it and it got chucked. Made my hair straw-like and don't think it did much for the colour either.

Frizz-Ease thermal protection spray - WBA - have used this a lot in the past but i've got a frizz-ease leave in conditioner at the moment which claims to also be a heat protectant so i'm not buying this again to see if i don't need another product.

No7 airbrush primer - WBA - liked this at it sat nicely under my laura mercer tinted moisturiser. Strange chalky texture but sunk in almost straight away and was a good base. I've got a couple of other primers to use first so i'll use them then probably re-purchase.

    I've had 1 IN:
Aubrey Calming Moisturiser - Can't remember if i declared this on my last post but it seems to be doing a good job on redness so once my current cleanser is finished i'll be buying the cleanser from this range.

Sorry for long post! :rotfl: Just kept typing and look what happened!
    Hope everyone is ok x

    I have a uu

No7 Bubble Bath - WBA, this is a big favourite of mine, I have replaced it with another bottle of the same and this one is my last one (of this type not bubble bath).

I do declare perfume samples if I am going to use them, if I am not going to use them then I put them in a box that I keep separately and will give them away. Last year I declared everything including things I had bought for people for Christmas put them on my list then removed them when they went out. This year I have them in a separate box and not on my list. I know others have items they plan to use for gifts don't declare them unless they have decided they are going to use them.

    UU's
Lord of Misrule bath ballistic WBA again one of my favourites. Will buy more this year when they are released.

Yves rocher lavender shower gel WNBA I wax not such a great fan of this, the scent was too heavy even for me a a lavender lover and it was not too great at foaming.

    Hello ladies,

I have a large handful of GAs:

3 x full size Gok Wan body butters
1 x Gum walnut hair conditioner
    1 x Sanctuary body lotion

I gave them all to a visiting relative who will make better use of them than I will: they will have gone off by the time I get round to using them! Also, I know that she can give any to a few ladies in her close family as well if there is a bit too much for her, so it’s all good as far as I am concerned as I hate wasting a good beauty product!

Furthermore, I have UU another Mitchum deodorant stick. This is a HG for the hot months. I really want to find an organic deodorant that works well, but I’m not sure what my chances are with that!

Also (and I am EXTREMELY excited about this) I have *FINALLY* managed to UU the remains of TBS Vitamin E Lotion. I named this ‘the Lazarus lotion’ a while back as no matter how much I used it I simply could not seem to use it up! It has been in use for about two years now, on and off, and to be honest I should have thrown it out when I started using it as my mum had it for ages before giving it to me, so if I think about it, the lotion probably went off at some point in the process, but this thread has made me stubborn so ploughed on! I am *SO* glad it has gone, though! :D Given how long it lasted, this is probably brilliant value lotion for those who like vitamin E cream, but I find that it doesn’t quite moisturise deep enough for me, so I doubt I will buy it again.

I’ve also thrown away a bottle of TBS Lemongrass Deodorising Foot Powder Lotion. This was given to me as a present, along with the foot scrub and foot grains in the same range, but I don’t use it and it has been in the cupboard for so long that it has gone off. I do actually use the other two products, though and I find them very good.

While getting out the new moisturiser and deodorant I had a quick look round my toiletries cupboard and I came to the conclusion that, apart from a tube of S&G Return to Slender that I got with the S&G box we all went mad on and bought a few years ago that has yet to be used (and I have just put it out in my bathroom so that it will get used) I realised that I have GRADUATED. Yes, GRADUATED!!!!!!!!!!! :j :j :j

I can barely believe it. I am one of the originals on this thread – my first post was on 29/12/2009 (OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here’s the link in case you think I’m kidding (check out post 68!):

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2166773

Sorry I couldn't hyperlink it but I can't seem to get many of the buttons on my 'reply' section to work since we had that forum change for suggestions a while ago.)

I can’t actually believe that it has taken me 5 years to pretty much the week to use up my stash, and to be honest, I really didn’t have all that much: two drawers full!

This thread has really taught me some valuable lessons. Apart from a bit of a wobble that was, I think, just before the Christmas after I started when people on the thread were going mad about S&G when I bought the big Boots OOTW box and them one other box of discontinued stuff that was very good value just after Christmas, I don’t think I’ve ever gone too mad buying stuff since then. I did treat myself to a large Champney’s box set from Boots the Christmas before last as I had always wanted to try Champney’s products and I got it at -75%, and I’ve bought some bits of make-up etc. when necessary, but I’ve been mostly quite good about buying moisturisers etc. which seem to be the things that back up the most in my collection. I bought 2 Bio Oils as well, as two of the large ones were £20 on the recommendation of a woman at work to use as a night moisturiser (you should see her skin!) and I’m still using them up, but that’s about it.

I do have about 5 shower gels to use up, but they don’t worry me in the slightest those are the things that I use the fastest, and I still have a Champney’s body butter to use up after my current Sanctuary body lotion, but I like to have just one extra in stock so that I don’t have to panic when I get to the end of the current one. I’ve also used up most of my travel products, but I keep them for actually travelling, so that’s not too bad and there aren’t that many, anyway. I think I have 2 bottles/tubes of face mask, but when I find the unopened one the clay one is going out as I can’t get it out of the tube easily anymore and life is too short, frankly.

Other lessons learned included realising how long it actually takes to use up one beauty product the whole way through. A small bottle of Simple cleanser that took about 4 months to use up even being used twice a day taught me that. I never really thought about stuff would go off, either – I learned my lesson concerning that with two TBS Passionfruit body butters I was *so* excited to use that had gone off even after never being open and having the plastic still around them – and the S&G Hand Food that so many of us had problems with. The body butters were heartbreaking as I was so excited and it really made me realise how much cash I was wasting buying products that I wasn’t even getting to use before they went off. I vowed ‘never again’.

There really always is another special offer, ladies. I learned that one as well. And I am so excited about the SPACE I have – the sense of freedom it has given me is immense! The toiletries mainly live in one cupboard in my bathroom with a few in my en-suite, but I somehow feel more free and happy knowing that I have enough of everything I need and a little more (I try to buy most HG products in threes and start looking around for a new special offer for them once I open the last one so I have enough time to find one, but not enough time that I end up with more toiletries clutter).

This challenge has also made me look at other areas of my life and the clutter in them. I started similar challenges for DVDs and books, and I have been using them up as well. Since the beginning of the challenge I have moved into my own flat and I have had to bring literally every single thing I own with me (no books, clothes etc. of mine are loitering in my parents attic unlike most people of my age that I know). I have had to evaluate what I need then want to keep, then ruthlessly dispose of the rest as I just don’t have enough room to keep it all. It has been hard work – particularly the past three weeks as I have had to clear out the spare room so that the relative I gave the above products to could stay – but in other ways, the best thing I have ever done. I will keep working on watching my DVDs and reading my books (although large swathes of them have already found places in charity shops, friends’ houses and the recycling according to what state they were in) and get rid of my ‘stashes’ of those things as well, but I am delighted with all the space I have made in my life. I am nearly there, and I feel that having got rid of all the extra clutter in my life in every form is going to help me move on with the rest of my life.

All the very best, ladies. I will pop by to let you know of my continued UUs (I don’t want to relapse!) but I hope never to need the services of this thread again. :D;) :j

Hello ladies. I have tried catching up but there is just too much - you've all been busy!!

Have just been updating my spreadsheet when I noticed I had hit a milestone. I created the spreadsheet last November, and I have just hit 200 UUs.

Unfortunately my INs are at 135 so that's a net reduction of 64 items in 10 months. Hmm.. My total items in the stash is currently 341, my aim is to get this to below 300 before Christmas, so that means an awful lot of pampering!

Thinking of the big P, this has kind of fallen by the wayside recently. I had even gotten to the stage where I hadn't taken my makeup off for, well longer than I care to admit. I was putting my makeup on on the train on the way to work and falling into bed without taking it off. Needless to say I'm not looking my best at the moment.

Please make some room on the naughty step. I went a bit crazy just after my last payday, and ended up spending a fortune on crafting supplies, a new pair of jeans and a jumper that has already disappeared somewhere, and then I went on the Neom website. Ended up with two travel candles and this: http://www.neomorganics.com/six-blissful-nights.html

I've used two of the tiny bottles already, and have decided I'm buying a full size time to unwind once the stash list gets to a total of 299. Hopefully it will be a happy christmas for me!

    INs for September :

    Neom real luxury bath oil
    Neom real luxury bath oil
Neoml time to unwind bath oil
Neom time to unwind bath oil
    Neom tranquility bath oil
    Neom tranquility bath oil

I love these. I've already used one tranquility and one time to unwind, and they are just gorgeous. The scents are amazing, they sooth and moisturise my skin whilst I'm in the bath. I just adore them. I'm definitely buying a full size time to unwind. I also already know I love the real luxury scent as I bought the body oil 3 years ago and eked it out for as long as possible. I remember the first time I applied it I had passed out asleep within 10 minutes. Gorgeous.

I also had a bad day and forgot my makeup bag (see above) so popped in to boots on the way to work and picked up the following:

L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara violet - was already using, love this

Collection concealer - fair - this I picked up simply because it was cheap, but have discovered a concealer that is almost too pale for me. it's full coverage and light, so it was replaced by benefit boing as my under eye concealer before I apply my No7 illuminating concealer. I am shocked that a concealer that costs less than £5 can be so good!

L'Oreal brow artist eyebrow pencil, blonde - was already using, now have two to use up but HG at the moment.

    And the UUs so far:

Neom time to unwind bath oil
Neom tranquility bath oil - love love love these.

Alberto Balsam apple shampoo - wonderful smell, cheap and did the job. now moved on to using up some of OHs huge H&S stash before i open my herbal essences.
Body shop spa wisdom japan adzuki bean and rice shower gel - this was nice enough, wasn't particularly scented but had been in the stash for a while (I'm fairly sure my friend bought this for my birthday just after the birth of her first child. He turned 3 this summer).

L'Occitane almond shower oil - reporting this as a UU as it has gone missing. HG, I use it to shorten my routine during the week by cutting out moisturising after my morning shower, also use it to shave. This was a freebie but WDBA. Currently using up OH's stock of shaving gels as he is now bearded, but one they are gone, I'm buying this one with glee.

L'occitane lavender foaming bath - freebie from a girls night out but lovely. WNB as I wouldn't pay W£20 for the full size, but certainly won't sniff at the freebie.

212 Carolina Herrera New York EDT 30ml - gift from sister in law Christmas before last. I enjoyed it although not really style; it was a very fresh perfume that had a base note of something like baby powder on me. I prefer floriental fragrances.

L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara violet - love this, bought it when it first came out. Bought the replacement as I had forgotten my makeup bag but on application realised how much the original had dried and needed replacing 6 months on.

Sure Maximum Protection clean fresh deodorant - HG. I found one more in the garage stash and this is currently in use. They sell these in a double pack in Costco for somewhere in the region of £7 when they are more than £5 a pack in Boots. Hopefully they will go on offer soon but I will pick a double pack up to keep me going until then.

Finally I've updated my PP list as follows:

    L'occitane bonne mere verbena soap
    Eucerin Even Brighter day cream
    Lancome sweet balm
Crabtree & Evelyn rosewater hand therapy
    Elle MacPherson nourishing foot butter
    Sanctuary relax cocooning body butter
    Sure antiperspirant crystal clear aqua
Avon muscle and joint massage oil
    L'occitane verbena body lotion
    White soap
Original source shower gel lemon and tea tree shower gel
    Radox Muscle Therapy bath soak
Body shop spa wisdom orange blossom finishing mist
    Eucerin Even Brighter day cream
Percy&Reed no oil volumising hair oil

Phew, I need a lie down after that.
