    Hi ladies. Friday - yay~!!

One more UU: The tub of TBS Cherry Blossom body butter has finally gone. I did have a look at TBS yesterday to replace this but even with 40% the tub will cost @£7.00. I'm pretty sure that TBS have offers on sometimes where all body butters are £5.00 a tub and I'd rather wait for this offer

OR I may replace it with a cherry body butter from nspa at ASDA as I've been looking at the range online. The problem with this is that I've spotted that they have a fragrance containing pachouli and I love this smell in Autumn so I know when I do the shop tomorrow I'll be picking up a candle, shower gel and body butter in this fragrance (at least I'll smell good on the naughty step) as they have an offer of 2 for £5.00 (of course will have to buy a fourth item too).
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I got a You Beauty Discovery Box in the mail today.

IN – Eyeko – Hydrogel Eye Patch Sachets x 2
IN – Sanctuary Spa – White Lily and Damask Rose Body Lotion
IN – Toni & Guy – Volume Plumping Whip

And that was it. (Also got two tea bags a pathetic looking makeup sponge and a voucher for hello fresh. Eugh. What a waste.)

    Therefore:

GA - Toni & Guy – Volume Plumping Whip
Already got one of these from a box this month so I'm giving it to my sister in law as part of her birthday present.

GA - Sanctuary Spa – White Lily and Damask Rose Body Lotion
Not huge on the smell of this so I'm adding it to my present stash for Xmas/anyone I think of before then :P
New to this money saving lark. Any tips greatly received.

    Hi ladies,

I know I don't post much anymore since my hoard is getting under control now (aside from too much makeup). :) But I've just got through a sample sachet of Clarins Hydraquench moisturiser and it's a long time since I've said I love a product I'm considering buying it! ;) But it's a lot more expensive than I'm usually prepared to pay for a moisturiser (£30 eek). This is definitely the wrong question to ask on such a thread but where is a good online(cheap) please to buy Clarins products? Any recommendations?

After all, I promised myself a treat after using up 10 PP items and there's only 1 on there that's still going...so I figure I've earnt it right? ;)

Hi Catriona, good to "see" you:) I don't use Clarins very much, but I notice that Escentual have the cream that you like on offer at £30.80 instead of £35, free p&p over £30. I have used them several times in the last few months and find them very quick to deliver and good communication too.

Sadly there don't seem to be any voucher codes running atm:(

Allbeauty.com can beat this at £29.20 with free delivery over £15, but I don't know anything about them, perhaps someone will come along who does?

    Hi Catriona! :waves:

    Nice to see you :)

I'm not sure which Hydraquench you wanted but these seem to be well-priced:

    http://www.allbeauty.com/search.php?q=hydraquench

The other thing to consider is that Clarins often run promotions and value sets so you could keep your eyes peeled for those? I would also try buying samples on eBay - I don't like to buy full-size things on eBay for fear that they're fake but I feel more confident if they are things that have been a GWP/promo. I'd search for 15ml tubes of whichever Hydraquench it is that you use and go from there. :)

(I think it's great that you've found an HG moisturiser. :) It will save lots of money in the long run. I wish my skin would settle on loving one thing! :o)

ETA - I see that maddiemay beat me to it! I've used AllBeauty quite a few times and I've always been happy with what I've bought. I'm currently fighting the urge to buy some Macadamia Oil things from them...

Thanks maddie, nice to 'see' you too, its been a while, hope all is well with you? :) Lots going on here, some good, some bad, but I'm muddling through. Little one is such a character - currently starting the stressful process of looking at primary schools. Where has my baby gone! :)

I'll keep an eye out on both sites, thanks for the tip!

EDIT: Cross post with Willowbee! Thanks for the heads-up, I was dubious about using eBay for a purchase like this too but will do a bit more research at the options on the sites mentioned. Thanks! :)

  • Hello again, Catriona :waves:

I've just had a look on eBay and there are so many Hydraquench samples for sale. You'll need to keep your eyes peeled for the correct skintype (lots of people don't list this but you can see it in the photo) but there's so much choice that you could watch a few and wait for the right price. I've just bought 4 x 5ml Hydraquench Mask samples to try for £2.99 (inc P&P). I also gave in to making an order at AllBeauty! Totally not your fault (!) as I was already eyeing the Macadamia Oil sale.

    INs (on their way)

Macadamia Oil Healing Spray (125ml) - possibly my HG hair oil and at a fantastic price. It's odd because I wasn't that keen on the normal healing oil but the spray works really well for me.

Orly Bonder - I need a decent base coat as I'm fed up with my nails chipping. A blogger that I like uses this all the time so I took the plunge as it was discounted.

Orly Slip-it Off Extra Strength Remover 100ml - this is to replace my Bourjois 1 Second Nail Polish Remover which is now covering me in diluted red polish each time I remove my NV

This order has led to a TA

TA - Ciate Under Wear (15ml) - not sure if they make this base coat anymore but it is rubbish! I love Ciate polishes but this is useless. It doesn't fill ridges and groves (as it claims to) and it doesn't seem to hold onto my polish at all. GONE!! (It feels good to bin this! :rotfl:)

Haha oops I'm definitely not taking responsibility for leading you off the straight and narrow! :D

Teeheehee! Nope. Only myself to blame :o

I have a 'good' used up to report to (slightly) offset the hiccup:

Vichy Normaderm Night (50ml) - this used to be my HG clarifying moisturiser. I stopped using it because my skin started to get dry (after using it for a long time). It's one of the only things I've used that has 'shrunk'/cleared out my pores (yuk!) I've really enjoyed using this up after a long break and am glad I have another one in stock :)

ETA - they've changed the range. I think this is the 'Normaderm Hydrating Care' now. There is a new night cream that I'd like to try...

I have used them and the others that were mentioned: all are excellent and mostly have free delivery, even all the way around the world to me in NZ.

I fell off the wagon good and proper this month and went back for a second bite of the 3 for 2 Indeed Labs offer at my local Dept Store. Another tube each of Retinol Reface, Pepta-Bright and Hydraluron; I cashed in a reward voucher, along with a gift card, so the cost to me was only about 15 quid for all three.

I also went to the Estee Lauder counter to try and blag a sample of the anti-wrinkle eye cream I UU last week. I was reminded by the big Estee Lauder adverts plastered all over the escalators advertising samples of a new anti-aging moisturiser available at the counter, so I thought that's a good excuse to ask for that too - as if I really need one but they do have a habit of making you feel like a total !!!!!!!!!!. (Betcha can't guess the naughty word? LOL)

The EL woman was a total misery guts and would only give me a smear on cotton bud and whinged about the adverts on the escalators saying she wished they would take them down because people keep asking. Whatevs? Anyway after playing along and testing the cream on the back of my hand etc. I persisted, despite feeling like a naughty child for asking if she had a sample I could take home - she came back with two sachets of Advanced Night Repair and said that was the best she could do.

I'll not count them as INS since they'll be gone in no time.

Kiwi - some of these SA's hate parting with the samples, I wonder if they like to take them home and sell them.

    I have a uu

    Rosewater toner 30ml - lovely.
