I've hit pan on a powder foundation I bought when I was in high school! :o! Didn't use it for years, now realised it is the answer to my nothing sits right on my skin in summer problem...
Does anyone else find when they have been in the sun and have a bit of a tan the foundation seems to sit on top of the skin and slide about? Winter I'm fine and love a heavy foundation but summer, nothing sits right I've tried everything! This powder one is best I've found, but highlights dryness which is a !!!!!!...

Depends on how long you have been out of high school lol.

I always wear a primer under my powder foundation so that it doesn't settle into my skin. Might be worth trying if you don't use one already.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I wouldn't dream of telling you off! It's not in the style of the board and I'm sure I have products that are much, much older! :rotfl:

I've been struggling with foundation over the last couple of months as well. For me it's a case of excess oil. VALM's right that a primer can help - I'm just struggling to find the best combo despite having several options! :rotfl:

Why don't you describe your skin type and see if anyone has any recommendations. E.g. my skin in combination/normal (I get an oily t-zone but the rest of my skin is normal, not dry). I need to use a mattifier on my nose and then the Revlon photoready primer works well for me (normally!) Lots of primers make my skin oily but this one doesn't and it fills in problem pores. Some days the primer is enough (I'm v pale) but other times I put a very light foundation over the top (I like the L'Oreal Nude Magique one or the Bourjois CC cream) THEN I use the tiniest bit of setting powder that I can. If I don't it will slip off my nose despite the mattifier and the primer  I like my skin to be quite matte - however much everyone raves about 'glowy' skin it just doesn't suit me :(

Oh! I have a small UU

Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Scrub (sachet) - this has been sitting by the bath for an age. I finally used it and I really liked it :) I have two more sachets to go. I wouldn't buy more sachets (not v :money:) but would consider buying it in a tub if it exists.

Posting mine a day late each time so I can squeeze every last minute for using things up :P

    10/09/14

    IN – Nivea – Extra Gentle Eye Make-up Remover x 2
Half price at Mr T's so when I did my order I chucked a couple in my basket. Almost UU my original bottle and only have a couple of tiny removers otherwise. :)

UU - Lush – Honey I Washed the Kids Soap
Finally got through one of the bars of this! I love it! WBA when I run out of other things – or just ask for for Xmas :P It's a deliciously luxurious soap and the smell lingers for ages! NOM!

UU - Nip+Fab – Dry Skin Fix Body Butter
WBA. This smelled good enough to eat and left my skin feeling incredibly soft – even the morning after I applied it at night!
New to this money saving lark. Any tips greatly received.

  • No UU today (well one, but it's just a sample and I don't count them in my stash) but I finally used my L'Oreal EverRich shampoo and conditioner. So far they work great but those squeez-y tubes are... well..rubbish.

    But I have another UU:

Lip smacker in Fanta Orange - WNBA those lip smackers are just nothing for me. Bought them in a pack and only have two left. Hope they use up fast. :(

  • Hi ladies,

I know I don't post much anymore since my hoard is getting under control now (aside from too much makeup). :) But I've just got through a sample sachet of Clarins Hydraquench moisturiser and it's a long time since I've said I love a product I'm considering buying it! ;) But it's a lot more expensive than I'm usually prepared to pay for a moisturiser (£30 eek). This is definitely the wrong question to ask on such a thread but where is a good online(cheap) please to buy Clarins products? Any recommendations?

After all, I promised myself a treat after using up 10 PP items and there's only 1 on there that's still going...so I figure I've earnt it right? ;)

More UUs, one from my PP:

18/228. Urban Retreat The Mosituriser 7ml - freebie and I realy quite liked this, however it's pretty pricey and didn't wow me enough to justify a purchase I don't think.

19/229. Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser 90ml - WDBA, love this. Replaced with same.

And just realised I naughtily forgot to post my freebies from the M&S Beauty Box last month, so INs:

    188. Leighton Denny Nail Polish in Supermodel 12ml
    189. Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier 10ml
    190. Pur Big Look Mascara 3.4g
    191. Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy 25g
    192. Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Butter 50ml
    193. H2O+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment 50ml
    194. Marks & Spencer Pure Instant Radiance Hot Cloth Cleanser 200ml
    195. Philip KIngsley Elasticizer 75ml
    MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)
