Told off for swearing

I'm guessing that the swearing was pretty extreme - what employee on a break wants to start a row with a punter?!
OP - behave like a human being and clean up your language.0 -
Next you'll be saying this is acceptable!

What do you really want the pub to do?
Hello and sorry before I take your order can I please remind you that You can not swear,
Please do not stab anyone,
No sex in public places,
You can not go to the toilet in the middle of the floor
You must remember to wipe your bottom after going to the toilet.
Please do not ram raid the front of the building.
No serial killers are allowed.
Sorry have to agree good on the pub for A. telling you and B. sticking up for their member of staff!Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
I don't swear very often, but I would be a bit miffed if I was told off for swearing in a pub. If pubs started banning people for swearing they would end up pretty empty.
I'd imagine that a lot of places overlook it later in the evening, but during daylight hours it's less acceptable. I, too, wouldn't be fussed at what I heard if I was out with my friends in the evening. I'd be annoyed if I was having lunch or coffee during the daytime and heard someone clearly incapable of reigning in their potty-mouth.0 -
You haven't named the pub. Just remind us where it is so that we can avoid it next time you and your mate go out.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

As a Sailor, I thought you'd be used to it!One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

They also pointed out that their rules were that staff should take their breaks AWAY from customers which he clearly did not.
"Clearly did not" but you stated:and sits down on a table near us, a few foot away.
So in your own words, he was away from you.
When they refer to staff having to take their breaks away from customers, they probably mean that they don't want them sitting at the same table or interacting with them whilst sitting at the bar.0 -
Not to mention it is a criminal offence (s5 Public Order Act 1986) - try swearing at a copper and you'll be in the back of a van before you can say "Excuse me officer, may I finish my meal"
Not necessarily anymore http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2008207/Officers-told-arrest-people-scream-obscenities-courts-wont-convict.html
