Ok so 1st June I stayed at the hotel, unsure of exact date but I then shortly after revived the charge. I then appealed sending booking conformation to prove I was in the hotel and they rejected on 4th July, sending a popla code. I then asked around to see what people knew about the whole thing and nobody mentioned that code until now, this morning 28th August I received the final reminder, letter created 26th August.

Sorry op, I'm at sea with your dates/timeline. It seems contradictory.
    Let's start here:
1st June I stayed at the hotel
    but then you say
unsure of exact date[what does this refer to? receipt of ticket in post, If so, was this the only notification you received? No window ticket?]
    next -
I then shortly after revived the charge - what charge? what does 'revive' mean here? Do you mean you appealed against the charge in writing?
'they rejected on 4th July, sending a popla code. '- so you had this, 54 days ago?
Again, a pity you didn't find us straight away.

Just let us know whether the above sequence of events/dates is correct so far.

Apologies to Redx, more cross-posting and just had to sign for a parcel, hence delay.

I suspect predictive text is causing all these incorrect words issues

I spose my grammar is as bad as my spelling. I meant you said i had missed the boat. So I think I'm going to have to pay!

Maybe, but as annoying as it is, it's my fault. I should have double checked the website when my friend booked it, and should have looked on here when I first received the code. Lesson learnt! :(

Congratulations on little person, tva14 - you'll be in a whirl for a while yet.

' Redx said I've missed the boat so I'm just going to have to pay' - NO, not at all.

But we do understand your preoccupations.
There will be others here who can advise on a strong case to the hotel/landowner. 1st June presumably means you were a new parent of a 3-mth babe atm?

Cases like yours are successfully defended, even if they do go to Court.

    Stay with us.

Now look, op - IT WAS NEVER A 'FINE' only police and councils can issue fines. It's part of ppc scam language, deliberately designed to frighten/bully.

We're all singing from the same hymnsheet here.

    You don't want to pay.

We don't want you to pay.

    Don't blame yourself - that's needless and silly. You've found mse:money: now:jand that's what matters.
The issuing of a fake invoice on private land is not your fault. You did not send the cowboys out to your car as a generous gesture to boost their slush funds.

I would have thought it was AT LEAST as incumbent on the Hotel to enquire for your reg.no. when you arrived. Did they think you walked?

This is worth attacking now. Don't pay anything.

Wait and stay close to your Thread. Are you in the Fens? - just Y/N, or a stranger to area. Arrived at night?
