I have completed my 1000 piece puzzle which I think I started in February. It is beautiful - "Starry Night" by Van Gogh. It has been on a board in the lounge by my armchair – DD and DS have chipped in to help as and when, and I have added a piece here and there over a cuppa. It has been really therapeutic and very meditative.
1000 pieces mostly all various shades of blue and seemingly impossible when I first started. First we did the edge pieces (the framework) and then the stars (the skeleton) and the remainder was then painstakingly filled in. It took time. Some days lots of pieces fell into place, other days I could sit for a hour and not find a single piece.
Yesterday I was down to the last piece, however I promised DD that I wouldn’t finish The Puzzle without he, while she was away at University. I was just about to slot that last piece in with a flourish, when DS pounced on me and forbade me to do it because, he reminded me, I had promised DD that I wouldn’t. I said that she wouldn’t know – I could take the piece out again. But DS would not let me and also made me promise I wouldn’t place the last piece while he was at school. It hit me that when it matters DS is ALRIGHT, I loved his loyalty to his sister and the fact he reminded me of my promise, however jocularly made. Made me very proud of him (again).
It all got me thinking.
Life is a puzzle. We don’t always understand it, and can’t always find the right pieces to make it complete. Some things fall into place very easily, and sometimes no matter what you do you can’t find the right path/piece. Very satisfying when you can, very frustrating when you can’t.
This gigantic debt journey is my challenging puzzle at the moment. There are days when I feel immobilized and just can’t find the piece I’m looking for, and I can’t see that I will ever get to the end. Those are the days that the doubts take hold. Then there are the days when I move forward in leaps and bounds and I believe that there is nothing that I cannot do, and no matter what I will succeed.
So every little piece of action counts no matter how small.
The framework/straight edges to the puzzle were put in place when creditors were written to. Interest rates were frozen so the debt stopped growing and was fixed. Family are the backbone – (the stars in the picture) – they are what my journey is all about. Everything else is an essential part of the puzzle, home, chores, part time jobs, money, stuff, goals, and everything that fills my time and makes life what it is today.
And a big part of that puzzle is this forum. Each person, each comment comment/post they make, each bit of advice and each experience shared, each cheer equates to a piece of My Puzzle.
So THANK YOU ALL for helping me with my Puzzle.
Love

I "Kondo'd" about 50 carrier bags yesterday!:dance::dance::dance:
They all fitted into one smaller carrier bag as opposed to a huge reusable bag which is always a cluttering a corner!
Have decided to do just One small thing a day......
