Hope you have a had a lovely weekend gardening and household chores, exactly the same as my weekend except mine also has a miserable moany 8 year old in the mix too :o

Hi StressedSteph - thank for popping by - I look things up and research things because I did consider going into medicine but then did a related subject instead and spent many years in that field. Often I think ignorance would be blissI don't always think the worst, just am fascinated by "life".
Busy day yesterday - doing chores washing/ironing/cleaning then a few hours out with DS to see one of his favourite authors. It was brilliant and very entertaining.
4 hours in the garden today so quite pleased, but back is twinging so I had to stop and not do anything too active for the rest of the day - can't afford to be out of action
Can't remember enough to work out if a grumpy 8 year is worse than a grumpy teen .......though mine did eventually mow the lawn so made up for it!

Sorry I haven't popped in. It has been manic recently. happy to hear your part time job has made you so much! That is more by itself than Him has ever earned in a year of his actual 'job'
And glad to hear DS has responded to his chat. I haven't had to have a conversation yet with Jelly obviously as she is three, but I remember my mum explaining to me and my sister that money was not infinite and was what Daddy went to work all week for, and that it paid for everything around us, the food, the house, the lights we turned on, the batteries we bought for toys that we left to run down when we walked away. I think it was around the same time as we started getting pocket money. It was explained that this was what we had for the whole week. Nothing more. So if we chose to spend it on the first day and eat all of our sweets right there, we would have nothing more all week. It did impact on me, although I still bought all 50p's worth of sweets and ate them the first dayI just did it knowingly!
I'm up for a barbecue. Love them and am being taunted by dozens of BBQ's on the beach drifting up through my windows this week! xx
Hi Lilty, Don't apologise - saw that you had a super busy couple of days at work (part-time never is really part-time is it? In my experience employers always take advantage of conscientious /good employees when there are others that get away with murder) but didn't have time to post at the time.
Money burns a whole in DS' pocket. I don't think you can start too early teaching kids about money. I think I failed on that front and didn't really start early enough. You live and learn, only you don't get a second go at bringing up children! I always knew money was tight - parents didn't have to explain it to me - DD understands now but DS is in recent months feeling the peer pressure more an more. I'm hoping the working for the £10 a week will help him understand how hard we are trying to keep everything going. Not sure how long it will last - have tried many different ideas in the past!
Am making lots of mistakes now in typing so off to bed
Nite nIte and sweet dreams of unicorns and rainbows

I am all for unicorns and fairytales. I have two t-shirts - one says 'Part unicorn' on the front and the other says 'I believe in Unicorns'. Love faeries and all of that mystical otherworldly stuff... Hence my love for Liv Tyler and Orlando Bloom, but only if they are in elf form
Hope you are enjoying this beautiful day? I have been given yet more medication and an instruction to start a strict ketogenic diet to stave off the migraines as this has been shown to work wonders and Dr herself follows it (and is enviably slim!)

. Loved Merlin TV series - DS converted me so when he wants me not to bother him he says "Shall I put on Merlin for you?" they had a unicorn episode too.

Feeling very guilty.
Was browsing 70% and over sale on Debenhams site last Thursday and ordered two dresses (one @ 13.50 and one @ 20) ...they have just arrived and both fit:o so will have to keep both. One is a bit too low cut for work so just need to but a matching vest top to go under. (£3-4 pound). The other is fine for work but also suitable for smart do (not that I ever go anywhere, but hey you never know:D.
Been a bit spendy on clothes recently but have 2 solid months of extra work (part time jobs) coming up so do need them.

Am still wearing my tat too as not out working today Puzz, I have just been lucky with my shopping - usually I never manage to find bargains so am really pleased - think I have 5 new outfits and more if I mix and match with old stuff. and I still have a £40 next voucher from Christmas! but seem to have mislaid it and couldn't find it in my purse  I also have some old new clothes that don't fit and if I could get myself together I could adjust them fairly easily especially the skirts.....
Hope you find some things in the gifted stuff! I am being a bit Non - MSE to be honest because I have the work lined, but I still have car MOT imminently with 2 new tyres to replace- so shouldn't have spent it yet really. Catch 22 as I have felt quite embarrassed at work wearing the same stuff over and over.
Back to hoovering
