Yes it probably is - but one step forward!!! Now if I could convince my kids dad to stump up some child support without causing world war 3 that would be even better!!!0

Asparagus - my DD1 is a smart cookie - she is already planning to finnish her prereg year and move home - save up a deposit for a house then go travelling for a while (renting house out!) so she will be locuming without a doubt! There is one thing about that girl - she is not afraid to work hard for what she wants! - but I will be charging her a decent keep if she moves home!!!!0

In effect they'll both be lodgers.
No they will both be treated the same - rent will be based on percentage of income - anyway not getting stressed about it she is like me - her plans change like the weather! Next week she will have found a dishy doctor to take her away from it all!0 -
Had a not so good day yesterday MSE wise - My DD3 kindly informed me that they were having a party at the park after school to celebrate the end of the 11+ exams! and I needed to get 'stuff' to bring! so in a rush I nipped into as*a to get a few bits and spent £30!!!! got milk and few other essentials but the rest was 'bits' for the park picnic and my DS school trip (just incase they don't feed him enough!) - what annoyed me was alot of other mums hadn't bothered bringing anything and thier kids just tucked in! That sound reallly selfish I know - but I also know alot of other parents have alot more money than me and they just didn't bother!
Anyway - todays plan is to take my DS to school and them my DD3 wants to do some cooking with me! I bought baking marg to bake a cake yesterday thinking that would do - but no!!! she wants to make a 2 tiered chocolate cake with chocolate tuile biscuits and chocolate pastry boats!!! GBBO has alot to answer for!!!
Yesterday I also applied for DLA for my son - I have been talking to other mums with kids with similar issues as my DS - they had almost all applied and got DLA for thier kids - I had never really thought about it to be honest but looked into it and it seems he might be eligable for it! So filled out a mammoth application and sent it off! I really have no experience of these things so I guess i just have to wait and see!
5 days to pay day and I really really dont want to spend another penny appart from what I have in my purse (just under £20 i think!) - my child benefit will land on Tuesday bit I want to keep that as the start of next months housekeeping and my DD1 has change her car payment date to me the 1st cos of her pay date - but the payment goes out on the 28th! so I want the CB to remain untouched as a buffer for that!!!0 -
Given she is now earning good money, and doesn't live at home, shouldn't she should be paying for the car herself?0

Which might be something to consider. Of course DD3 wanted you to bring food, what kid wouldn't? Doesn't mean you had to.0 -
Bob - she does pay it - but it is in my name so it currently come out of my account - looking at changing it to her name but she's only been away 2 months - just wanted her to settle in before changing it (if we can of course!)
Violalass - no i didn't need to - but I guess i am rarely off work after school and don't get to do these things often so wanted to make an effort! I guess its the working mother guilt!0 -

Isn't you being there 'making an effort'? Or does it not count if you don't spend money? (What message might you be sending your daughter?)0
