I am a little confused...
Just opened a savings account with them and downloaded the Money Manager and added my Credit Card to it. All seemed to have worked OK, but...
Whenever I log into it, Explorer shuts itlself down. This has now happened 4 times. I have tried the usual reboot, but it still happens.

I've successfully opened an Egg Savings Account and deposited £1. That was the easy part. As I'm using a Mac without Windows emulation software, I'll have to download the Money Manager on a friend's PC to make sure I get the £10! Shame as I think I'd quite like using this tool. Will have to wait until I upgrade my Mac with Parallels (Windows emulation software)... unless anyone knows of Mac-based software that does the same thing?
Very easy £10, though, so worth the effort. Thanks as always, Martin :T
Also, it's worth mentioning that the IE Tab for Firefox is only for PCs, not for Mac OSX.
Don't forget to go through Quidco if you decide to open the Egg Card Account (with 0% on balance transfers for up to 12 months). You'll get £35 cashback!:A :A :A :A :A

Don't know what the reason is but I get the same - Explorer puts up a box say "sorry encountered a problem got to close" or words to that effect. What you can do to get round this is to move this box out of the way (below your blue bar at the bottom of the screen) and carry on as if nothing had happened - Money Manager will carry on loading anyway and you can access all your accounts. It works for me- give it a try. In the meantime if anyone knows why this happens, perhaps they can let us both know?

just to say that I find EMM very useful for seeing all my financial accounts in one place. I am running 2 current accounts, the same number of savings accounts, and about 5 credit cards (number varies) - it also shows the balance left on my mortgage.0

When do u receive the £10
I've just registered for an account with Egg. I then downloaded the Activex and registered a non-egg account.
I went back to the main statement page and it just has £1 next to egg (which was my initial deposit when I signed up)
Should the £10 have gone in there automatically when I registered, or does it take time to appear?0 -
thier site says credited by end of augustMake £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j
WSC 10 March - £0 / £5
Debt £17,294 - 7th March0 -
Thanks, Martin, for this. Hope to get £10 for a couple of minutes work whilst watching TV. I have borne in mind the comments above and just added my share/ISA portfolio details which are summarised on iii - so no security problems. It's not something I would use in general, however; I like more detail when I check accounts.
Thanks again, Martin.0 -
It's a shame, but I'll follow the advice of Holistic and log in on my husband's PC then never use it again. It's a shame, 'cos if it worked on a Mac I'd probably use it... but somehow I'll manage!
Cheers!0 -
Just FYI really, and if I've understood things correctly…
I'd like to use Egg Money Manager, and have tried before - including talking to Egg themselves, but I'm on an Apple Mac and the Egg Money Manager Software is not compatible.
It used to say on the Egg site that no one on a Mac would be able to use EMM. It now says it works on a Mac with Windows OS and Internet Explorer. (though why anyone using a mac would in their right mind switch to Windows OS when they have Apple's far superior inbuilt OS - Tiger…)
Microsoft's own website says it stopped developing IE for mac in 2003 and hasn't supported IE for mac since 2005. So anyone on a mac can't download IE to use anyway. As I type this I'm not sure if someone with a Mac and using Windows OS would therefore be able to use IE and then access EMM, but if they can't then this £10 is unobtainable for Mac users.
Anyone else shed any light on this?
I've just phoned Egg and the nice lady there says they've had a few people phone up with similar complaints and the more people that make a call the more likely they will look at changing things. So if you're similarly frustrated by this then why not give them a call.
