argos complaint -response

i emailed the complaint below to argos
"i ordered a kids bike at , the wait time was 5
minutes on receipt .After 15 mins wait i enquired and was told to collect bike
from rear off store.
I had to go twice to the rear of the store which is virtually unmarked as to
where to collect goods.Despite repeadtedly ringing several bells and intercoms
no one answered my call. i then had to leave my car in a restricted area to go
to the front of the store and they told me to go back again upon which i
collected the bike
It took me 30 minutes to collect my order - a big difference from the claimed 5
minutes and yet the package itself was not large in any way and the store was
not even busy
I do not find the service i recieved acceptable"
my question is should i be compensated in any way or no? - what would you expect in reponse if it was your complaint?
thanks

I think if you thought the wait was such a problem, any complaining should have been done there and then at the store.
I think most people have had to wait a much longer time than what is stated on the receipt, I know I have, but it's just one of those things.
As for compensation ~ sorry, but I'd put your hard hat on if I were you!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

You poor soul, i would get yourself a solicitior on a no win no fee basis, i would of thought your claim must be worth around £500 for all the stress and upset that has been caused0 -
Sorry but I can't see where you have a complaint. The wait time on the ticket is a guide time not a definite, anything can happen and stuff up a wait time. You would probably get the standard reply apologising but as for anything else................0

I think if you'd had to pay any extra parking etc it would be reasonable to ask for that back, but otherwise I don't think you should expect anythingMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

I think your making a fuss over nothing. And compensation :rotfl:0

Agree with the no win no fee.
Next time you see one in town, stroll up to the cheery gentleman and state in a firm voice "Argos made me wait 30 minutes to collect my bike", by the time the case goes to court you could be on anti-depressants and have panic attacks every time you go past argos. If I were you I would also "slip" in Tesco's just to make sure you get something.0 -
I don't think you're making a fuss over nothing - I imagine it was horrifically frustrating at the time, particularly if for example you were on a work lunch break, or time limited in some capacity.
I've read several threads today which seem to have the "what the heck" mentality - let it go. I suppose IMHO the problem with this, is poor customer service will just get poorer.
I don't anticipate that you will get any form of compensation, however, if you still feel strongly about the poor service, you're within your rights to either complain to the store manager or HQ.
As a previous poster has mentioned, 5 minutes is a guide time - however, I think most people would find 30 minutes, with the extra messing at the back door excessive.0 -
Oh yes, compo of 2 free kiddie bikes
Fair enough you shouldnt have gone through all that running about, but
why didnt you just complain while you were there in the first place???? Is that so hard to do?? whatever happened to the workd "no"?0 -
No one has mentioned calling the police yet so I will.
You should call the police now and report it.
Secondly write a letter to MD at Tesco, Sir Terry Leahy and CC into Trading stanards.0 -
i did n't complain on site because after waiting that long i just wanted to get out of the bloody place as i had a wife and restless baby- any way where i made complaint is irrelevant - do argos state "complain at store only"????? - why do they have an email facility for it then?????
"I've read several threads today which seem to have the "what the heck" mentality - let it go. I suppose IMHO the problem with this, is poor customer service will just get poorer." ceeboy thank you as at times the unwarranted sneering can be irritating.
i simply asked objectively what forummers would expect in response i did NOT demand compensation !!!!!!0
