So, since I was last here I have tried another job, which has caused me to struggle with my mental health, I am acutely aware of the affects of stress being a mental health nurse! So I am leaving at the end of this month to do agency work, therefore earning money, stepping in where I am needed and having some time around long days to work on myself and what I want from my life! Finished my canine massage course, not got the confidence to take this public yet but once I finish this job I am hoping to spend some time in a local rescue. It is a very physical thing so I cannot do many before I am aching all over!

In weight news, I went for hypnotherapy, no matter what you make of it, it has helped me shift 1stone 10pounds since May 2018, I have now gone from my heaviest ever weight to the weight I was Jan 2017, though very briefly as I quickly put weight back on then!

We have been away to Edinburgh this year, it was amazing, I went to the London Flower show with my best friend and in just over a month I am off to Landan with the hubby for an adventure and our anniversary!

Next year, we are going to be going to Florida with some of my family, which I am super excited about! The following year we are off to a wedding in New York! So two very big holidays coming up that I want to make sure we have enough monies for to have a wonderful time!

Most excitingly, we have rescued four ex battery chickens- the girls! We are completely in love with them (well, big dog isnt, she is slightly less driven to trying to eat them now then at the beginning!). I researched long and hard, we have foxes in the area and I knew big dog would want to eat them so we got an Omlet cube and walk in run, 2nd hand from the bay of e. £650, which is good considering it would be pretty much double brand new, girls are very happy with their home and as its plastic it is ridiculously easy to keep clean. They lay so many eggs its madness they were ue to be killed! They are name after Jurassic World velociraptors- Delta, Echo, Blue and Charlie. We have since purchased an automatic door, makes life so easy for all of us and have extended the walk in run. Those two add £400 onto the total cost but it is perfect now!

I will update on the mortgage shortly!

glad to see you back Jodles. I had a bit of a break too last year... All refreshing :D

I'm glad you have found agency work is better for you... keep looking after yourself. Finding "the" job you love is super hard and I think quite fluid throughout life.... I'm certainly not encouraging my youngest to make any rash choices :)

Thanks MFD! I have been qualified almost 10years and wonder if I am just tired!

    So mortgage news:

We got the house valued at £210k, this made our £160k perfect for the next %bracket, technically it fits in the 80% bracket but is actually 76.19%. This makes me deliriously happy :j:j

We went for a fixed rate for 5years, 2.11%. For every £1 borrowed we will pay £1.51 back, this is a big decrease from the last mortgage.

Our monthly payments havent changed much, we have instead, shortened the term from 31years to 26 years at the same payment as before!

On the 1st August 2018 our mortgage stood at £160,000

Our monthly cost is : £666.72, though our first payment was £272.26- no one seems sure why, but it might be as our mortgage was actually under 160k when it switched so there was some left over.

As it stands, this would mean I will be mortgage free at 57...I would definately like it to be less than this, but we are holidaying etc so it will need to be balanced.

Our monthly interest is approx £280 a month, this is so good compared to our very first mortgage and even our second mortgage, and it looks as though out of the payment, £385approx will be off the capital! Hurrah!

I will be looking into how I can make some small OPs and I need to register for online banking as it has been two months and I dont accurately know the mortgage balance now!

I would like to OP the monthly interest, but DH thinks this is way too much money when we haveholidays coming up and still have lots of house stuff todo. I suspect that he is correct but I have that thought in my head now...perhaps once I am getting regular shifts etc I may be able to send some money over to the mortgage and do it that way.

Though I want to build up my personal savings as I like a 1k buffer for christmas/birthdays/time out with friends that arent joint ventures! It stands at £220 right now and I have a week in Oct where I am away so need to make sure I am covered for bills as will be on agency then. I am pretty sure that I have all that covered in my brain for when I am booking and it shouldnt add strain.

Nervous/excited to be moving away from current job, really hoping my love for nursing will come back and I can re-focus.

Very wet day here yesterday, better toay. DH has sold the ride on mower- he got a bigger one which is great a couple of months ago so decided it was time, this will go into the car fund as his cheap run around is sprouting problems and we arent sure it will survive MOT next year.

Yesterday I got blackberries, two types of eating apples and cooking apples all from the garden and the girls laid four eggs for the third day in a row!

Yesterday we went to watch Indiana Jones with a live Orchestra, was amazing!!
I have registered for online banking with T*sco, they were really helpful and gave me all the info needed to make OP's. Made me laugh when she said I cant OP more then 32k a year, in my dreams!haha.

Today I have done a version of TT- I rounded up our house account, then remembered it owes both me and DH so paid us back and then rounded up again, we dont have a huge amount of movement in that account after all the bills etc so I figured a bigger round up would make sense! I have £16.44 sat in the 'other' account. T*sco will send me a statement every time I OP so my plan is to just send it across once a month to limit this.

£16.44 OP will save us £8.38 in interest over the term as every £1 borrowed costs £1.51 to repay. Yay!

Day off work today, will be a nice day as work is so stressful/busy that I need this time to be kind to myself before I face it again! Though I do have the dentist  had to have two root canals on the same tooth in Jan, now it is causing problems which suggests they didnt work so no idea what they will do to me today!

  • Ouch to dentist... reminds me I need to book.

I can't wait to get back to OP. The OP the interest is a goal if you can manage it... but so is the lure of sunshine and adventures :D

You are spot on MFD, both are alluring and exciting!haha. OPing the interest is probably not realistic right now, but I will be glad to OP even a little bit!

Antibiotics from the Dentist, everything crossed this works....

Been a little spendy this month, including a spa day in Oct and starting on buying presents as well as some new clothes for me- loosing weight does mean I need some new clothes!haha. Need to be careful though.

Pretty much hump day now, yay!

    Thanks greent,

Life is mostly good at the moment, I am happy with a lot of things we have achieved but still lots of things that I would like to work on.

Looking at getting a 0% credit card to chuck holiday things on to lessen the pressure of having to use any Florida budget to prebook New York, we fly to Florida in Sept next year and New York is the following June. Just not quite enough time to save, I am hopefully well overbudgeting so that it can all be payed off fairly quickly once we have been away!

Off to London at the end of next month, really looking forward to this, prebooked most things and have got money off for this, accomodation is airb*b so good price and already paid. Do need to pay the dog sitters the rest of the money £100, for this they are in my home 20hours a day and will look after the girls as well.

In Jan, we have been invited for half a week to the Lakes with my folks and some other family, will be good practice for Florida, as we will all be living in close proximity!! Most cost will be dog care, will use the home based service again.

Going away to near Northumberland for my birthday, already got a great deal on airb*b, also booked the amazing kennels that are booking up well in advance of a year! This is cheaper than home care!

My friend has suggested going to Blackpool and watching Rocky Horror, this would be June/July I believe so another thing to bear in mind cost wise.

Then it is Florida! Cannot wait! We have already booked the flights, got a good deal and my folks are paying for the accomodation- its two apartments that connect. Dogs are in amazing kennels for this too! So much excitement!
