Hey MFD, we feel so lucky here, our last house had an awful set of neighbours and was so noisy with no outdoor space you could enjoy due to all the noisy neighbours and there dogs! Makes me so thankful to be here, everytime I only hear cars from the nearby main road and birds I feel happy!haha.

Aww MT thank you so much! Haven't been around much either with the fab weather we have been having so will pop to see you soon!

McTaggus thank you so much! So lovely of you to take your time to read my ramblings, will find you and pop in again soon!

Did a 3.39mile walk at 6.30am with my dad today, urgh I am not a morning person but at least the littlest dog is exercised! Big dog is having rest and mooch time.

Hello all! Managed a 7.17mile walk yesterday which was pretty hilly in places, it didn't defeat me which is pleasing! A little achy today and my left knee is twinging occasionally!

Feeling bit deflated with the MFW part of the journey at the mo...feels like a long hard road. I think I will look back at all the OP's etc and compare where we would be now if not for the OPs to boost my motivation!

Spreadsheet always helps to motivate! Totally agree that the overall goal is daunting and can feel like an impossible slog, and I can mentally only cope with 2yrs ahead. Anything else feels like another life away, which is why 2yr fixes suits me!

That's always a pick me up, just seeing how far you've came, and just how many months/years you've managed to reduce the mortgage by.
But know what you mean, was fine yesterday, and today up till dinner, then don't know what got hold of me, well actually think I read a MF Diary, about how well they are firing ahead with their future plans, don't get me wrong - love reading how well everyone is doing - just felt a bit deflated after reading, maybe I need to make some longer term plans rather than just month to month.
Sorry, went on a bit too much there:o

Thanks SJ! I think waiting for the switch to happen with the rates is making me feel a little grumpy...maybe once that happens in August I will feel the buzz again!

A frayed knot, I think you are spot on! Love reading how everyone is doing, but sometimes I wish I could do more! And you are welcome to post as much as you like, its nice to know that I am not alone in the not always feeling super positive! Hope you are feeling back on it today!

Totally understand the new rate thing. I'm so excited about looking for a new rate at Christmas! I keep having a peek at current rates hoping that they're similar! That daft vote everyone keeps banging on about better not ruin my plans!

That could be it ....... the unknown  ...... know there is something ... looming... you with your rate and me with my repair bill which I don't have the foggiest will come in at :( Hate not being in control of the situation more.

More, what you would say ... resolved with the event of things, have realized there is nothing I can do to change the situation and have the most "doom" feeling that insurance will have a clause that will not cover it, even when the damage was caused by a storm.

  • That's a super long walk, you are cranking up the mileage :)

I would imagine we all feel a bit despondent on this marathon of a journey, I know I do. Some days I feel like I'm making great headway, then other days I wonder if I'm ever going to reach my end goal. I always feel like time is running out, not just on the mfw journey, but in general. How is there enough time in one lifetime to fit in everything there is to do??!! Sorry not any advice to help, but just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

    Hello Jodles,
Isn't it funny how once this overspend bug hits us it burys deep!!! Not too long to wait until your new rate, and hopefully you can enjoy the good weather beforehand. If it was winter the time would go even slower!!! :D

It's so easy to feel despondent when we read other people's diaries. I know that I often feel that I should be doing better than I am when I read others. Maybe not in overpayments as they don't currently apply to me, but just in general content of their lives.

    Keep on keeping on!!! MTxx
