Spent the last week reading your diary on and off. Fantastic work! Especially to achieve your target. Welldone!
You've done the hardest part, with a bit of luck the interest rate will only decrease and your payments will knock a lot more time off the term and save you buckets in interest.Sealed Pot Challenge:

Thanks for sticking with me StrugglingYouth! You have summed it up perfectly I think, the hardest part was getting the elusive 10% and hopefully will only get better from here!

Managed 4.4miles today with little dog, wasnt too bad at all which was pleasing! Not sure if I will do any proper walking tomorrow but will aim for a big walk on Wed as I am off!
Have seen a caravan from the 80's nearby for sale for £275...I want it..would make a fab garden hidey hole, office for me or a doer upper to make it an awesome caravan in the future...if it doesnt have any rust or holes and hasnt sold before hubby gets home on Thurs we may consider buying it! I get so caught up in fabulous ideas and I am not sure if we should get it, so leaving it to fate seems like a perfect idea!haha.
Been watching the little bunnies out frolicking in the field, so cute, but they are starting to chew some of my trees, need to get some plastic stuff to protect them. I am going to increase my amount to the house account by £100 as I had a payrise in Jan and am now even with hubs, for the first time ever we pay the same into the house account and it feels good! I am getting overtime this pay day which I will send £400 over to the account, this will help with hot tub May, 2tonnes of soil and maybe a caravan!
Popped the heating on today, lounge was under 15degrees on the thermostat and felt it, so turned it up a little!

Just read your diary from start to finish and it's great, very inspirational. I'm a sucker for numbers, percentages and spreadsheets and the highlight of my month is payday so I can shift it around too. I'm currently a mortgage free wannabe wannabe (will be ready to look for somewhere in september) but have already started playing around with numbers to get an idea on how much I can over pay etc so I definitely share your enthusiasm. My partner isn't as passionate as me either so I can relate to you on that, she'll smile and not every time I tell her our house deposit has gone up by 0.01% but that's about it. :rotfl:
Anyway great stuff, keep it up.:www:House Deposit £10,539.47 / £12,500:www:0 -
Hell Darksoul, love the name! Thank you super much for reading and being so nice! Oh it is so exciting looking at houses and getting ready to make the leap, and every 0.01% IS exciting!! You are definately among similar folk here, we all understand the excitement! Thank you for the encouragement as well, always appreciated!
Been watering the garden today, suddenly have so much to water compared to ever before with the border! Luckily with all the rain the water butt is very full so not a problem! Had a super busy today so feeling a bit drained, hoping the weather will be as good tomorrow as it was today, beautiful! Almost burnt a pan before, forgot I had eggs on to boil when I was working and then weird noises started happening, little dog went all heckly and ran out barking and I realised all the water had gone and the pan stunk...hopefully it isn't too ruined!
Obsessively checking the mortgage to see if they have implemented the new rate yet!!

Hello Jodles,
I love the idea of a retro caravan for your hidey hole. I'm excited to see what your OH says and if it's still for sale. Fab idea.
Is your mortgage on the new rate now? All confirmed? Even with an eggy smelling house?

Hey MT! Hubby wasn't keen on the caravan and said I could get it if I wanted, but he would prefer to use the money for finishing the garden etc...I concede it is valid, he said perhaps in the future and maybe a nicer looking one!haha. Bit disappointed but it does make sense!
Mortgage rate still hasnt changed, should be Tues at the latest I think though may ring them tomorrow to check!
MandS all went through, going to contact them tomorrow to get 6% opened and within the month should have the £100 voucher! Yay! Money things feel quite good at the moment though I have spent more than normal this month, waiting for £40 back from my dress which will help!
Looking forward to the weekend!

Thanks ETE! Had good weather and walked 5miles on Sat, did a couple of miles on Sun, Mon and Tues as well.
Feeling fudged off, sorry to ruin the positivity SJ but had a bad couple of days in work, then realised today the re-mortgage two months early wont come into effect until the mortgage ends anyway...I asked the guy on the phone what the point was then!! Had a quick look and still seems like a very good deal but super disappointed that we have another three months of paying £933.75...
Meh, off to drink tea and watch Masterchef!
