I'm super lucky and work at the end of the road where I live, so my 30 second commute means normally I have no excuse! - Also means I should have plenty of time to fit in a good work out before work too!
I still don't know what to have for dinner, our food shop isn't arriving til 9pm and hubby wants to eat before he goes out, he can have fish fingers, I'll probably end up having soup.0 -
I am lucky to live alone (discounting 4 cats and a dog) so eat what/when/how I want ..
Can not wait for the weekend though....0 -
I think that by the number of replies you have had I think we can safety assume that you are not alone. I was 44 last week and recently time has not been so kind.
I struggle with weight and have tried everything. I have officially by my OH been banned from diets as I can take them I little too far. Eating issues which I am desperate not to pass on to my beautiful healthy children. Busy home and work life and little time for anything else. But I guess like you I know if I don't do something soon it will be too late.
I have smoked since the age of 18 and again tried lots of different things. Think what worries me most is that I do not want my children to start smoking and they are much more likely if I still smoke.
So if it is ok with you I would like to have a go.
But I think giving up the cigarettes is going to be especially hard. Have you set a stop date?Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
Hi BJV - sure have a go with us... lets have like a joint diary
I too think that smoking will be most difficult. I started smoking when I was 15 so 30 years now.
But my daughter (who is 24) does not smoke, never did, hates cigarettes too and is trying to get her b/f to quit. So I do not think it is a rule that kids of smokers will smoke.
I think I find food the easiest to tackle, then some exercise, then the cigarettes, in that order.0 -

I do miss living alone sometimes, life was easier when it was just me and my dog!
I too can't wait for the weekend, I just hope I have enough will power to stay in tonight and not go out, I really need to save! - I'm sure if I put my PJs on when I get in the door there is no way I'll want to have to get dressed again!0 -
I plan on doing NOTHING all weekend.0

I'm so inspired by this thread that I'm going to dig out my dusty trainers and go for a run tomorrow. I used to go to my local 5k Parkrun on a Saturday morning which was great and I dont really know why I stopped going (hangovers, holidays and general laziness aside!). Parkrun is free and I found everyone really supportive whether you run it in 15 minutes or walk it in an hour. I am not a runner by any means but I did it and my time kept reducing each week and its an amazing feeling when you cross that line to cheers of support. I will never be first but I still go faster than I would sitting on my sofa! Maybe there is one near you you could join?£2 savers club 2021 - £0

I eat similar to Paleo. I use a site called whole30. Im actually a fitness instructor but was injured towards the end of 2012 and I put on a lot of weight. I was 15 stones 10 last May, at my last weigh in I was 12 stones 3. Im still heavier than the height weight charts say I should be, but I pretty much ignore BMI as Im very active. I do thump boxing classes twice a week, a bootcamp twice a week, occasional swims, I walk as I dont drive, spinfit now and then and the odd circuits class. Im looking to get maybe another 7-10 pounds off. I got back into a pair of size 14 jeans for the first time in a very long time a few weeks ago so even though Im still heavy on the scales, my measurements have changed a lot, particularly with bootcamp, I lost 14 inches all over in the last one.
I can do 27 burpees in a minute now, last year Id have been lucky if I could have done 4, I did a triathlon earlier this year as well.
Ive had pretty much a negative relationship with food since my early 20s, Im now 45 and the Paleo diet has really helped.0 -
Right - I'm going to do a parkrun! Not tomorrow (too nervous) or next week as I have work, but the week after! (I'll have a few 5k runs under my belt my then too!) I'm going to sign up now.
Nearly weekend time! Wahooo.0
