Chatted with love neighbour out front for an hour.
BBQd sausages for DS3 and rainbotrout for me whilst cutting back lawn, yucky plums scooped up, front lawns and large verge all cut. Just need to stuff it all in nice neighbours wheelie which isn't quite full.
DW on and next will be the ironing. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Running out of reason not to do the ironing now tea is eaten/tidied up after. Am thinking HHI from 8pm - may do more if I can force myself but aiming for at least 1/2.
Just been nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge - not looking forward to it one bit!
UPDATE _ thought I would update as mine was the last post. Did 45 mins and only 3 of DH work shirts left in the basket - no point doing them as would mean squeezing in his wardrobe so would come out more creased.0 -
My cheeps are home too
and fed and in bed. With a warning to stay there, lol. They had a super day out by the sound of it. And DS brought his pocket money home again, there was nothing he wanted enough to part with his money
My top that has been steeped in vanish all day is now stain free :T and hung up to dry in the airing cupboard. DW is on again, and I'm ready for bed. I have a m00npig card ready to order for DD and some bits on amazon to put away for Xmas. So they are to pay for in the morning.
And, it's night-night from me!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Today I've ordered the bare minimum of items I needed for the livingroom; a desk for me to work at and new bookcases as the 2 we have are falling apart literally and we have more books than we can store
Managed to get a discount which meant one of the bookcases & delivery are effectively free and money off my next purchase :money::D A few other bits need ordering but I'm waiting on these things arriving before I make final decisions on anything else as other livingroom stuff depends on how many books we can store in the new bookcases :rotfl: I also ordered net curtains for all the windows online and they should be here next week
I can't wait for the light while having privacy, although that's going to take some getting used to after 10 years of blinds
Tomorrow we have to do painting otherwise we'll be falling over deliveries on Friday while trying to do it. Will also have to get the floor scrubbed as there is gloss paint DD trod in on it.

Well I just managed to depress myself.. I was looking for a knitting group.. figured a bunch of older ladies I could cope with.. and locally I found 3.. 2 are over bed time so impossible and the third is Monday mornings... run by a woman a knew 20 years ago who pee'd me off by totally dumping any contact with me about 16 years ago... I don't hold grudges but neither do I put myself back in the place I was all those years ago.
The worst part is it must be something about me because I've had a few other people I classed as friends do the same.. obviously I am dysfunctional with a 7 minute attention span (we have been timing it)
Anyway.. enough maudling.. tis bed time and tomorrow is a new scary day and only 5 sleeps until school ... coats tried on .. bot girls ended up with 11-12 coats.. still need to try on Squeaks and Pixies.. and name AAALLLLLL the uniform bits!!!
Moomin needs to try hers on.. and I need to sort her trousers, some looked a bit straggly when I was sorting in their room yesterday.. and I need to do an epic fling in the girls room... I'm looking at new drawers for Dot.. but not sure what to do.. cedisions cedisions...
4 girls.. 10, 4, 3 and 1.. Currently in 1 cot in my room, 2 junior beds (squeak totally outgrown hers) and a single bed... do we go for..
2 sets of bunks which could be separated into singles put 10 y/o on the top and 4 and 3 on the bottoms and use the 4th as storage for the next couple of years keeping pixie in the cot in their room until she requires a huge bed by which time Squeak will be 7 and old enough to go on the 2nd top bunk .. though realistically DD2 will have moved out by then so Quaver won't be in there at all it will just be the 3 tiny pinks... still with 4 beds.
OR!!
Do we get 1 lot of bunks put Squeak on the bottom, Quaver on the top and Dot in the single which is quite high and she falls off frequently when she is awake!! obviously they need beds I am not being frivolous just trying to spend as little money as possible to meet their needs.. I still have the back room to sort out!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen, I would go for the second option if you can push the bed against the wall and get one of those bed rails to keep her in I think. Having a spare bed sounds handy for sleepovers but if your bedrooms are like mine it also sounds like it could become a dumping ground!
Pouring down here, just updated my finance spreadsheets. I have spent a shocking £240 on clothes and shoes this month, mostly for the kids - and that doesnt include a few bits on the Next Directory. Both of them are growing like mad. DS2 hasnt tried on his school shoes I bought him in June but I have a horrible feeling they are not going to last long.
Paid stuff this morning and voluntary job this aft. Somehow have to fit in taking DS to his friends in between then I have to go back to work tonight for a meeting. Going to be one of those days!0 -
morning all
hope everyone is well
quiet here as DS2 has just left for school so im home alone again. had the usual tantrum over missing pe tops and pencil case checks. I did ASK that all this be done yesterday but that was taken up with a piece of homework that was amazingly rememberd on the last day of the hols despite me quizing several times.
DS1 found it rather amusing and reminded me i only have a couple more years of this before it fades into the either of happy memories. he also hinted they do/did it on purpose to give me a memorable moment on their 1st day back - oh how i laughed;)
going to sort DS2s pit out now hes out of the way (hes been doing it but not to my standard) also need to find his orthodontist appt card or ring and ask i know we go next month..
pigpen id go with option 2 as well, i went for the spare bed option of a settee/double bed below with a single on top for DS1s room, he leaves it as a double bed all the time (so we got him a proper mattress rather than the rubbish one that was on) and the top bed is used as an extra shelf where he stores his guitars and other random junk.
anyone for a HHC or two at 8am. i will get that room sorted before i do anything else.
