Paid stuff finished :T although I've just had a text to say I've cocked up on something

Good of them to tell me at the end of the day what it's too late to fix...

    Gah.

I'm not logging back on now - it was a favour anyway. Perhaps they won't ask me again ;)

Kiddies still not back so haven't started their tea but I'm having leftover soup. And a bit of webtime to chill for a while!

I did empty the DW though. And made a pile of stuff that wants taking upstairs.

back from work and DS2 said he couldnt wash his hair as the taps had run out of water, a quick word with a couple of neighbours confirmed its the street not just us. DH late home for lunch and said hold up was 7trent digging up a burst water main in town. got dropped off in town and got DS his haircut and nipped Ts for some food and last minute pencil case filler bits.
got washing out i did first thing and had a quick tidy round will start preping food soon. then some more flying.

Well we got our exercise - I sawed up a little bit of wood but then lost motivation cos we've got a really good electric jobby that does a great job of it ..... and it's fun to do! Then I picked up some wood that DH had left in the garden and stacked it ready to saw with said electric jobby. Kids came out then and we gave the chooks some corn. After that I got out the battery operated lawn mower and cut the grass for a bit until S said could he do it so I let him take over and he's done a really good job, bless him. Whilst he did that I did some weeding, ably assisted by Whiz the Whipped who thinks it was great fun to stand in the tub and chuck the weeds onto the grass . I discouraged that little game.

Doing a couple of crumpets for the kids, hope DH isn't too late home from work tonight. Then snack tea and I've got paid stuff to do.

Mrs-MP hope the water comes back on soon.

Bossymoo what time will the children be home? Hope you enjoy the chill time :)

Dusty a cuppa and chocolate sounds like a great plan :). It's come over very grey here now so my washing is hanging on the wooden airer above the stairs (aka my life saver).

Time for a cup of tea now I think.

I don't know, mumof2 there is an accident on the M1 I'm not sure if its before or after their junction but sound like some bad tailbacks. But then they haven't even said if they've set off or not.
I've text to ask if I'm making dinner...

    Hi all

Done paid stuff, walked the dog .. and .. cleaned out the car!! Its one of those jobs I hate doing but always makes you feel better when its done. DS told me the car was an embarrassment and he wasnt wrong.

Hugs to those feeling down. Funny time of year I think, the thought of summer being nearly over, kids going back to school and us heading towards cold weather and dark nights.

So, everyone fed, OH and DS1 going out so I am going to have an hour on job number 2 then a bit of a swish round in our bedroom. DS2 has been on the xbox all day (a rare thing to be fair) so I might just get him sorting his bedroom out.

  • Hi - thanks Pigpen for advice re laptop - think that will be much easier so will pick one up at weekend!

Thanks Ionafan and well done to DH on his loss.

I wish I'd had my camera with me this lunch time the view was amazing - managed about a 5km walk but forgot my pedometer! I I had to have virtual cake with "you guys" because there wasn't any left for me!!! Apparently one lady liked it and said "but I also like the flapjack" - also mine!! so I'm feeling rather happy. There is nothing nicer than someone commenting on your cooking or baking is there?

Hope your blood taking was OK Dusty - you are right it is totally different when it's not for you.

Rather tired now it's been a long day and zero flying at all - will try and do some tomorrow - promise.

thanks mumof2, ive got working taps now. water looks ok as well, after the phone message i got about letting it run for 20 mins to clear the pipes i thought i'd be getting rusty mud for a while.
slightly annoyed that someone had opened the box of pencils i bought and took one out, wish DS hadnt swapped now he opened the first box and looked at them (they werent sealed) to check they were what he wanted then said i dont want the box everyones looked at so put it down and picked the 2nd one for the trolley without checking those. another trip to T's tomorrow.

It is really simple to move your vital stuff from the external HD to the new lappy too.. usually you plug in the USB and a box pops up so you can view the contents and then move what you want.
