Relationship ended and car

Can you contact the car manufacturer and obtain a replacement key?
Not sure what paperwork it will need, but suspect you probably have it all.0 -
It's a ford fiesta. Really not sure, looking at about £80 - again at cost to me. She did reply to my text this morning and basically told me that she has paid all we agreed, and to take her to court0
-
how much did you agree to sell the car to her for, and how much has she paid you so far?0
-
I agreed to sell it to her for £500, she has given me £400 - but again there is nothing in writing. I am not trying to screw her over, and I know it's only £100, but I sold it to her really cheap, and she can't even pay me it.
She is also now threatening not to pay the rent (we have a joint tenancy with six months left) and also tough she is not living here she has agreed to pay it.0 -
Is she a named driver on your insurance too?
My ex bizarrely decided she could still help herself to my car some time after the relationship ended - and it came as rather a surprise to her when the police pulled her for no insurance, as I had removed her from the policy some months previously.
Result was six points on her licence and a total (She got TWOC too) fine of something like £180 - apparently they only hit her with the minimum level of fine for insurance as she was caught in a shop car park rather than on the road - which would have meant a four-figure sum.0 -

the bad news is, you don't (as I understand it) have any proof that you agreed to sell the car for £500 to her, and you don't have any proof that she's only given you £400. I doubt you'd get anywhere at small claims court if those are the facts.
Also, as regards the rent - unfortunately, with a joint tenancy, usually you are jointly and severally liable for the rent, which means if she doesn't pay her half, your landlord will be looking for you to pay it all. Check your tenancy agreement to see if this is the case.0 -

I think you'll lose sympathy now. She has paid 80% of the cost of this car. It sort of appears you are being a bit vindictive now. I assume she ended the relationship?0 -
Hello ballet, I have spoken to my legal helpline about rent, I know that if she refuses to pay it the landlord will take us both to court, then it's up to me to then take her to court with proof I have paid etc, I don't want it to get to that stage but the longer this goes on I feel it may have to.
I am going to view a new house on Wednesday.
Reacher, although I appreciate and respect your comments, I have not come on here looking for sympathy, just to ask advice. I have given facts (could have lied) and irrespective of wether or not I coming across as vindictive, do you think my car finance company would appreciate my not paying the final payment?
In regards to which finished who, why does that matter?0 -

the difference is though, you have a written contract with your car finance company. You don't have this regarding the car with your ex, do you?0 -
No, but then surely if there is no evidence either way, the car is mine?0
