So Christmas day has been and gone, back to work for me today.
The school holidays effect OH and my evening work hours. We would normally work the 5 evenings a week and also Sat evening, for last week and this coming week we would have only had to work 1 week of evenings + Sat, so we have split the 5 evenings over the 2 weeks. Saturday for today and next Saturday we would have normally worked a shift in the morning and then gone back again in the evening, but the place we work at was closed today, so we did both the morning and evening hours this morning, just to have a full day and a half off over the weekend, next Saturday we will be doing the same.

After work we quickly went and did a top up shop, OH also needed tobacco so that has been bought to last till the end of the month. We also went and got cat food and cat litter from the pet store.

A few days before Christmas I received an email from one of my UK debts, requesting that I contacted them with an up to date expenditure and to advise if I wanted my payments with them to stay the same. I quickly did an expenditure and then called them an offered to pay them the debt off if they were able to give me a discount, I offered 75% of the debt and they stated they would have to go back to the bank where the debt was with, I asked if they would be able to offer me a discount over the phone or did they always have to go back to ask, they were able to offer me an 80% discount over the phone. I advised them that I needed to sent the money to my account in the UK and would take a few days to get there, they have kept this offer available until Wed. I sent the money straight away so am hoping it will be there Mon or Tues so I can pay them Wed and get this debt cleared and the account be closed.

The money cleared in the UK account today, so I have called the debt company and settled the account, I paid £1041.35 as they gave me a discount of £260.33 which was 20% saving off the debt. :money:
I started was back when I had my lightbulb moment with 13 debts and am pleased that I have got them down to 2. 1 of the debts is on hold with the collections agency and the other I do pay each month, I am hoping that by the end of 2016 I will be able to pay this debt off completly, heres hoping anyway.

Work in a bit, just waiting for OH to get up. Since noone else will be in work today OH and I are able to choose our own hours, normally on a Saturday we have to work a split shift, but since the place is closed today we can do the hours all together. Should be done by 11.30, thats if OH gets up soon.

I have done an online shop order which we will collect after work and the shop is about 2- 3 mins drive from work. There is a collection time gap of 3 hours, so as long as we collect it by 2pm then it's all good.

I have checked the bank accounts today and updated YNAB from any spends over the last few day.

The mortgage payment has come out today, so will need to update sig in a sec.

OH is getting up, so I can now go up and get dressed for work.

So work is back to normal today, back to the split shifts.:(
This morning wasn't too bad in work. Came home about lunch time , had something quick to eat then went to bed for a nap.
I think having saturday afternoon off from work helped, it gave me time to do much more then I would have otherwise.

This weekend I managed to get a load of things done.
Washing 2 loads
Collected the online shopping order and went into shop to get a few things that didn't make the order in time.
Work hours for both CO # and # were done on sat.
Sent off a work order.
Read the meters.
finally sorted out my clothes since the wardrobe was put back after the wall being sounblocked.
Put the dry washing away.
Made curry for dinner sunday, extra made for freezer.
Health fund receipt put in letterbox
Got tobacco for OH.

Without the 1 1/2 daysoff the weekend I would never have done so much

Today we ordered OH monthly injection, this time we didn't need to pay in advance so a NSD for me.
OH made Spag Bol which we will eat after work this evening.
Bread is being made in the breadmaker and will be done when we get home from work.:)
We still need to do the work washing, work pays us a small amount extra for doing this. I save it up and do it once a month, saves it going in with my washing.:rotfl:

Monday evening after work, OH had a phone call to say that his dad had lost his battle with cancer. We had been to visit OH's parents on friday and knew that the time was coming, I said to OH in the car on the way home that I felt like I had said my final goodbye, little did I know that that would be the last time we saw papa. Monday evening it felt like my world had just caved in. I called our boss who was deeply shocked by it all as they didn't realise how bad papa was. OH insisted that we go to work on the Tuesday as it would have been impossible to get cover for us to start at 6am on the Tuesday. OH wanted to work all week if he could, which we have done, only tomorrow left in work then we have 4 days off. Work has been a blur this week, not sure how we have got through it at all.
Sunday we go to visit mama, this will be the 1st visit since Monday evening. Monday is going to be a day for OH and I to have for ourselves, Tuesday will be the funeral and then Wed will be time to recoup before we go back on Thursday.

The last few days have passed in a blur. I was happy on saturday evening when I had worked the last time for a few days, finally having time to grieve. Monday OH and I didn't do too much , just spent the day at home, then in the evening we went out to the TV cable shop and then to Aldi.
Tueday was a tough day, papa's funeral was a lovely service but very sad. The ashes were then scattered and we all then went to a brasserie for some coffee and sandwiches. It was something papa would have liked had it not been for his funeral.
Wednesday we had a few things to do, had to go back to the cable shop, who solved our problem, we can now watch programmes that I record on the downstairs Tv upstairs on the bedroom TV. We also needed to get another ipod cable as OH's cable broke, a top up shop and that was all we done.

Yesterday we went back to work, I didn't feel like going back but knew that if I didn't I wouldn't feel like going back whichever day I chose to go back. I was glad we went back as it helped take my mind off things for a short while.
Yesterday we worked for co #1 and #2.
After work we had to go to a doctors appointment for OH, which was a 45 min drive each way, the weather didn't help make the drive any easier. I just wanted to go home and curl up in bed.

Off to get ready for work, today should be a slightly easier day with work.

At the start our joint debts were inc interest

Loan - 7,015.07 euros Now - 4,486.38
31 ST DEC 2015 0.00
Bank of mum n dad - 15,000.00 euros Now - 15,000.00
31 ST DEC 2015 0.00

The main aim is to pay these debts of 1st and then pay the UK debts. The UK debts are still being paid but i'm in no rush to pay these are they all have interest frozen and the creditors still seem happy with the payment plan that was set up a few years ago.

UK debts back in Aug 2009 were:
£20,155.54 and now are £12,666.47
31 ST DEC 2015 £6574.39
The UK debts are being paid off at a very very small amount each month, while I will pay back these debts eventually I see no reason to rush to pay them when I am paying interest on my other debts.
Wanted to post this here to remind myself how far I have come in the last year and a half.

This week has been a short working week for OH and I but a long week overall.
OH and I are feeling disheartened with work right now.
The supervisor told us a few weeks back that our working hours would be changing come January, they still haven't.
It would mean that we wouldn't have to work Sat evenings anymore, the hours would be added onto our Sat morning hours, so instead of work for 2 hrs and then 1.45 hrs it would be 3.45 hours in 1 go. We have been doing these hours for 2 years now and feel like we don't really have much time off for us to do things. We work now 6 days a week with split shifts 5 of the days and Wednesday we can be finished by 3pm. We do have time off in the days but not enough time to go and do things that we want as we need to make sure we have our main meal about lunch time as we are back working in the evening and after work we just want to relax and do nothing as we are back in work at 6am 6 days a week.
We have spoken to our supervisor about this and they say that they are still in talks with the company that we are hired out too.
I hope they hurry up with these talks.

So what has been done today,
The washing.
Updated YNAB
Updated the PAYDBXMAS 2016 thread which I am running this year.

We still need to do the following
OH is making sweet n sour chicken for dinner.
Send hours to company # 1 and # 2 and send a copy of OH's dad death certificate so I get paid for the 3 days off last week.
Walk to the health fund and post a receipt to claim money back.
Pay the vacation fund some money back (They want some money back from when OH was sick at the end of 2014)
Make sure work uniforms are dry for tomorrow
Get work stuff ready for tomorrow.
Email the insurance company.
Exercise
