  • In Work today, so quick post for now!

My personal aim is to lose 12lb over next 5 Weeks. Thinking bigger loss over first 2 weeks then settles down to steady 1_2lb/week.

Salad for lunch , chicken stir fry veg for tea. Not doing to well on the water consumption today. Must aim to finish that 2 litre bottle by bedtime!

    Ladies.... Your plan?

Hi Bo, finally read your diary! Defiantly count me in on the weight loss challenge, I started slim fast yesterday and got to mid afternoon before quitting :rotfl:

I'm on my fitnesspal again aiming for 1000 calls a day as I always go over by a few hundred :o

Shall we post receipes on here? It would be great to share ideas as I usually go for the supermarket diet ready meals but as a veggie there are only a choice of one or two low cal ones and it's so repetitive. Is everyone giving up wine as well?

Anyway , good luck with the diet and mortgage ops :D

Found your thread :) Well done on the overpayments. Good luck with the diet plans!
And as for the selling of books, I tried Green Metropolis but decided it just wasn't worth it after paying the postage and wrapping etc. Dropped them off at library and charity shop and blessed the clutter free space instead :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Hi there NewGirly and Watty1
    Thanks for stopping by!
I attempted to post yesterday, using my phone, however, the battery 'died' and I lost my work .... this happens frequently these days (I am in line for a new phone!) - it was quite a lengthy post as well - and I did not have the heart to repeat it when my phone eventually recharged.... Now I am on the laptop (wrenched off oh!) so here goes! :j

Would love to share ideas and recipes... I'd originally asked for everyones 'plan' as we are all so different and so I thought this would kick up some new ideas!

Personally, in order to lose weight, I leave out all carbs (ie. pasta, bread, rice). I also leave out all dairy (except for the occasional natural yoghurt and 3x coffees / day with milk) and I also leave out fruit - because of the sugar (fructose) content and subsequent bloating!)

I realise that there will be many who could not bear to do this, but for myself, I feel less bloated and sluggish and the weight does drop off!
So why hasn't it these last 8 (wasted) weeks?
Because I have been doing what I would call a 'maintenance' programme... I am super good during the week re food/drink, however, come Friday and the weekend - the social life kicks in, usually around a dinner table and with loads of the lovely vino.

This then negates all the good work I have done during the week. Added to this, I am deskbound and take little or no exercise so consequently, the weekends 'social' just leaves me staying the same old weight...

(better post this before I lose it....

Now knowing you are vegetarian, I can see why you don't have much choice in the 'ready meals!' Must be a nightmare! Are you ok with cooking everything from scratch?
I never find there is enough of a portion in those ready meals :o and for me they are full of all sorts of nasties - as are the meal replacement 'shakes'... whatever they put in them as a 'filler-upper' just makes my stomach feel full of sludge - and I'm really not good with them...do you cope ok with these? or would you fare better preparing your own stuff?

I've tried all sorts over the years, SW, WW, celebrity slim, slim fast - but the one that works for me (if I let it!) is simply meat/fish and veg/salad. Think world war 2 diet! all basic stuff and all cooked from scratch...
