Oh dear, not good
OK, you have contingency plans and mortgage very low so this is good :T. Hubby will be happier so this too is good :T. You will not be happy - this is badSo, you need a further contingency plan for when hubby is back at work - what is it that is making you miserable - is it the job, in which case start getting your CV up to date and networking NOW even if you don't feel you can actively look, or is it the hours? Plan for what you will do when hubby back in work and that will give you something to aim for
.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks gallygirl for your post... Its good to get feedback that makes you think!
What is making me miserable is that I may be stuck in this job and these hours for the income... I do like my job but want less hours. can claim pension in 12 months and was going to reduce hours at same time. This now I feel, depends on oh's position. I don't feel he will get paid employment in this area...age is against him now, so he will Work for himself. To support this needs my income...
If I cut my hours, we could end up on one quarter of the income we were previously on and I currently feel that I cannot reduce our income to just 10k p.a.
I am assuming that he will earn again, but it may be sporadicBoDiddly

Hi, Bo, I'm really sorry to hear what's happening at the moment.
Just wondering has your husband got any union support, or some one else to speak for him?
It just might help to make sure he's being treated fairlyEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks goldie, I wish oh was in the union. He has spoken to a colleague who is ex union rep and he can't believe the circumstances and has given some advice but is unable to accompany oh on day in question. Also spoken with Acas. And employment lawyer. Will appeal if necessary. Odds are stacked against. At the end of the day its a cost saving exercise.
On the plus side, oh had picked up some private Work...just need a few more of those....BoDiddly

well that's took a bit of digesting...and I still don't bl%dy believe it.. Oh got issued with a final written warning and not dismissal as expected and led to believe. said it would have been but for mitigating circumstances?! & accusations unsubstantiated. ... What's that all about?
So a Mixture of relief and anger.. The stress of the last few Weeks has been so difficult.
Anyway, plan b will now be goal for near future. Ie . self employment but at oh timescale and not theirs.
Thanks again for all support shown on here.appreciate it must have been difficult to know how to respond to my posts, but really do appreciate the opportunity to offload worries anonymously and have some support, having not burdened anyone closer to home with all of this...
Normal service on here will be resumed asap!!!BoDiddly

:mad:wrote you a long reply Bo and MSE gremlins ate it!
Brief highlights of what I said:So sorry you and Mr Bo have had such a bad time, sounds like you've really been having to live up to your user name! I hope you're both in a better place now, but totally understand how Mr. Bo will be anxious and I'll at ease at work now, after the way he's been treated.
Thank goodness a plan B possibility raised its head. Is this something he could start to build up on the side in case he has a similar problem again? Will you still be able to consider your drop of hours now that things have settled for a minute?
Have stuck with the soup days but not lost much of anything yet. Need to kick start my metabolism as much as anything else. If you need to shed a few pounds before your holiday, I'd recommend going yeast free / sugar free / gluten free for a bit. Sets you up for good eating habits and will definitely shift a few pounds, especially if you stay active on it.
Wishing you well and a good night's rest after so many nights full of worry. All the best to you both xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Well its been a long time since I've posted on here and I do look forward to catching up on all your diaries!
Have read Goldiegirls and so pleased that she is retiring after her last working day today! How fantastic is that!
Mr Bo is still working in the dreaded job and just taking the money whilst working on plan b. I'm planning on cutting my hours down, all being well, later in the new year.
Just now looking forward to Xmas and New Year... New start! !
Onwards and upwards. All the best to you all xxxBoDiddly
