  • Hey there,

Sorry to hear about DH - hope it's resolved soon. My DH finishes his job from hell today; I can appreciate how stressful it must be for both of you; sending hugs!

I'll be keeping an eye on the weightloss challenge, and starting from next week properly (post birthday) if ok? Definitely need to lose a LOT of weight (again) :(

    Thanks for posting Gib, xx
so your dh had left the job from hell... I hope all goes well for you both. I must catch up on your diary...

Re the weight loss challenge, i've lost a couple of pounds just through being sick with worry. I know I have been remiss in not following through with everyone who had said they would, join in...but I did have it on my mental 'to do' list, but this has taken a back burner position given the latest events.

Now here I am with just 2 Weeks to go until hols and now in panic mode. Now looking at 7lb if poss in that time frame. Was considering going vegan to boost a weight loss..what do you think? Also drinking lots of water at present, help with nausea :(

Have to try to stop worrying now. Its solving nothing. Time to man up and take things one step at a time ... We are working on a plan b. Just a couple of things to firm up.

Thanks to all on here who have posted your support...it is so much appreciated...even dodgy hugs! :)
    BoDiddly :)

  • Aww...no probs re: hugs. Sending more (dodgy and otherwise, lol)

Really sorry to hear about DH job news. I definitely think that if it's that bad, it'll be better to be without the worry and allow you to focus on plan b (although I can appreciate that the money anxiety is never nice). It's amazing what seems to come up when it's really needed, and you've the mental freedom to look.

DH spent most of Friday giggling; we might be broke in a few weeks, but we'll be happier, healthier and long term it'll be much better.

Let me know if I can help or you need to talk.

Re: weight loss challenge. Have you ever tried the South Beach Diet? You can pick up a copy on kindle for a few pounds (and there are good forums online e.g. minimins if I remember rightly). The first time I did this, phase 1 which is the most restrictive for 2 weeks, I lost 13lbs over the 2 weeks. Maybe worth a try (it's essentially low carb, low fat).

Hi all! Well its the Sunday night dread (big style) as oh will more than like lose his job this week... Its been a.funny time while weve been working on plan b.
On the one hand, its been good to put contingency plans into place...on the other hand I have had a few moments of panic. Its all very well deciding to be frugal and not spend however, its a different ball game when you realise you CANNOT spend!
I feel trapped! Trapped in my job which I wanted to reduce hours in but now feel I can't as I am the only regular earner. I also feel sick to the cotr that Ill be the breadwinner instead of the icing on the cake.

We live in a deprived work area known for scant employment and that on minimum wage...we have been so fortunate to have both been in full time reasonably paid work (for this area) We have earnt 45k between us, so to
potentially drop to less than half that is soul destroying esp when we are so close to being mf...

Having said that, oh will be so much happier not in his current place of work... But wait there! So would I! Does that sound selfish?

Re the weightloss... forget it. Got just.over a week to.go and so far have lost 10/28lb. Cue wine as a destresser and weightloss sabateur in one. Whats a girl to do?!

!I had hoped to group together on here and lose weight together, but feel have let you down by not posting, but life has got in the way, as it does..

On the positive side, got a lovely family holiday coming up and I have have said er must put all this behind us for that time and address it when we return.

Face bovvered? YES! Very definately! But hey...people have had worse havent they?!
