MSE News: After a John Lewis loyalty card? Free tea & cake is no longer guaranteed

My husband and myself both have a My John Lewis card but only mine gets used and I'm quite a big spender at John Lewis. Now my husband gets vouchers for tea and cake but I don't! I think it's the non-spenders they want to draw into the store in the hope that when they have their tea and cake they'll also buy something. I've stopped using mine now to see what will happen.

I had several spend months in JL and got nothing for about 6 months...have had about 3 months of no spending at all and have just received the same set of vouchers as Pun! It does appear to be the non-spenders back into their midst.

Nothing (or I'd tell you so everyone could get the same!) - it's typical of the vouchers I get every 3 or 4 months. I shop regularly in Waitrose using a MyWaitrose card and erratically in John Lewis, usually paying with their Partnership card.

I'm a regular spender and have received the same as above. No complaints but I do wish they would offer a healthier alternative to the cake. Last month I went for the banoffee cheesecake thinking I wouldn't be too impressed so I'd only eat a little, but actually it was amazing and I devoured the lot!

Tried it this morning for the first time. Really like it and made a change from the usual sponge.

Shame the carrot cake has been discontinued though :-(

I've had nothing for ages; my last voucher finished in June and had nothing all summer.
Despite ringing up three times and getting mixed messages throughout the summer (twice I was told to hang on and I should have them by the end of the month - back in July; nothing arrived and I was told the third time mine weren't due until August!)




Y'day I rang them again as nothing arrived in August and I was told I'm opted out of marketing (this is the second time this has happened and I've never opted out and still actively receive their emails) anyway he's opted me back in and I'm told I'll get my vouchers soon so I'll see what happens this time...

Just got my vouchers today but only 3.

Might give the soup a try.

Slightly peeved I just spent over £50 2 weeks ago so missed out on the £5 gift voucher. Still grateful for the vouchers.

My OH is fuming again as she has never had any vouchers despite spending in JL, I might let her share my soup.
