    I wonder whether this will become national policy for Arval, or whether they've succumbed to this case only on the basis that it was going to 'cost' them more in time and trouble to hold their line rather than issue a refund?

    National policy would put an end to admin [STRIKE]income[/STRIKE] charges on PPC-issued PCNs.

    In this particular case:

    OP = :)
    Arval = :(
    PPC = :rotfl:

    I have only just come across this thread but a little confused. I also have a lease car through Arval but it is a large company contract. I have had two PPC invoices whilst with them and on both occurrences they have simply named my company as registered keeper no charges no hassle. I wonder if they operate different terms and conditions in their contracts. My only minor grief was educating my company how to deal with it but that's now sorted.

    I guess they just don't know their Arval from their elbow and it depends on pot luck as to who the local Fleet Manager is, who deals with these.

    You would have thought that'd be the most sensible way to do it but in my case they tried it on and got nowhere.

    Thanks everyone for their valued help, and yes I am chalking this one down as a win! :beer:

    Also I chalk it up as a very useful case for people to cite if they get the same treatment from Arval that you did at first. If Arval are now saying that their Legal Dept has woken up and smelt the coffee just two years after the law changed, then theoretically everyone now should be treated like IPC1963's company was.

    Was the person who sorted your case, a central Head Office person at Arval?

    If so, do you have an email address or a suggestion who people should contact if they get the same issue in future?

  • That's why I was confused. On both occasions they literally notified us of the fine. "Their word not mine" my company was named as registered keeper. I then wrote naming myself as the companies registered keeper and mentioning that there are 3 named drivers for the vehicle and just appealed to POPLA as registered keeper. No charge was attempted. I must add we have a European contract with them and I believe we are one of their biggest accohnts. Perhaps that makes the difference.

    I'm sure that helped to concentrate their minds! :)
