I do tend to agree. I'm looking at property up to £20k over my budget but at the same time telling myself an offer would probably be refused. It's worth a try but offering £50k under is a bit extreme.Kirstyb1987 wrote: »Can I ask why did you go and look at a house 50k over your max budget anyway? In my opinion you have gone and seen a house that is beyond your means and are going to end up disappointed.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0 -

Houses are going on the market all over the country with prices SOMETIMES inflated buy anything from 10-40%.
If you go on zoopla or home.co.uk you can see sold prices and price trends. I am not saying all houses, but there is a noticeable amount.0 -

Sometimes the lag in prices coming through make it very difficult to judge where the market is.
Different Agents and different vendors all look to price in a variety of means. This is why the what percentage of asking should I offer is always a crazy starting price.
The fact that they have two offers tells something to me (if its true !).0 -
Is it this one ??

Just needs a lick of paint if so, might not be to your standards though.0 -
They may not be able to accept such a low offer , even if they wanted toNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Is home.co.uk still working? Every time I look it won't open ?0 -

There lies the problem, many expect to reduce the offer price to take into account decoration / carpets etc specific to their tastes.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0 -

Another problem ....a diyer doing decorating is a lot cheaper than getting in jimmy joe blogs the cowboy decorator lol
Decorating / paint and wallpaper does not count in price reductions lol (just my opinion pot of paint is only 12 quid lol )
Taste is not a factor for knocking the price down...lol0 -
The bathroom fitting are broken and dirty from 10 years of renting beleve me when we saw the pictures we were happy to offer nearly the asking price, it wasn't till you got inside you realise what its really like. the kitchen unit are moving and the breakfast bar is coming away. the units are 3 different colours and styles and the appliances are very dated. the tiles on the floor arn't finished to the edges. the window in the dining room (double doors) needs replacing. The rooms need to be made back to 4 as one is knocked through. Parts of the skirting and cornis are missing. the ensuite looks lovely until you see it. The alarm system is dismanteled and hanging down in the bathroom through the tiles.
see we looked at another aswell that wouldn't need touching just the back of this house on the same estate
