:hello: Happy weekend all NSDers
Penguin- Good luck with the house buying, exciting times
Marmite- That's some hefty saving on all the things you bought, well done :TThey do sound lovely.
Well I went to the coffee morning after work yesterday, was a lovely sunny morning and we sat in the garden, could have stayed there all day but had to grab a bit of kip as I was giving someone a lift somewhere last night so I didn't get to do any extra shopping but I don't really need anything and so I can plan properly and do it on a day off next week. I did spend £5 at the coffee morning but it was all for a good cause and the cakes were lovely and I won a posh exfoliator on the tombola which can go in with something for a (the C word) present.
I also didn't get to buy the train tickets I needed too as I was too tired to go online so I have bought them today at work so no more NSDs until tomorrow.
It's turned lovely and sunny here this afternoon so I'm off onto the balcony at work in a minute.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend

I'm not going to reach my goal for this month but I didn't spend anything today. My mum paid for my hair cut & brought me a new winter coat in the sale.NSD 3/25 | SA: £38.00 | EF: 38.130

Yes Marmite it was my last night on Thursday
Had a right hectic day yesteryear after finishing in the morning and slept like a log last night
Will get used to getting up in the dark I guess- My mum got some 'sensor' things from somewhere so her lights come on when it gets dark-might see if I can find any anywhere so at least there is light when I get up
Ugh, I hate getting up in the dark for boot camp, although it's actually sometimes preferable to having to get up in the middle of summer when you've had next to zero sleep because it's so warm and are just drifting into a deep slumber....no pleasing some people
Would it be worth investing in one of those daylight alarm clock thingys? I know they're for people who get up in the dark mornings, but don't see why getting up for night shift should be any different.
Marmite now ranks alongside Doctor Who for giving me nightmares of what's under the bed
Such a good episode. Up there with the weeping angels.
Have just realised I lost a NSD today for getting my eyebrows done  food came out of house budget as it's the start of the pay day month (IYKWIM) still, I was starting to look like a relative of Igor's  changed some pj bottoms for a diff size, last pair in the size I wanted, which was lucky. Thinking of treating myself to a face mask online, it's lovely but not a cheap brand, however it exfoliates without scrubbing so good for my sensitive skin. I think I've signed up to this challenge once or twice in the past but I've been useless at it. However, I've not spent any money today and am feeling very proud of myself! I'm going to start planning for October today and think about joining the challenge.
I know that we can decide our own "rules" but do you include your OH's spending if your finances are joint? If it was for something like petrol I'd count it but if OH buys a chocolate bar and I don't buy anything, would that count as a NSD?0 -
black cat I don't count OH spends but we do have separate accounts. I'd be tempted not to count OH spends in your case as you have no control over them. That said, are you going to be frustrated that you're trying not to spend and OH is carrying on as normal? Could you get him on board with the challenge too?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Right, Igor, is the hall decorated for the prom? Good, good.....there will be a late start because prizegiving is going to take ages, so I hope the food is not going to go off? Oh, you've curried everything to preserve it...hmmm, nice, but....curried spotted !!!!!!????? Curried chocolate brownies???? And surely you mean Spiced Lemon Mousse, with a double s? Oh you did mean mouse? And the orchestra looks suspiciously like that band whose name shall not be mentioned...better keep Hubert away from the stage then, if they start mincing around in stilettos and false eyelashes....only just finished his course of therapy since their last appearance......you know, I am tempted to barricade myself away from this madness in matron kerri's sanitorium and spend the night getting rat-faced on kaolin and morphine ....why oh why did I agree to Igor's daft idea of a prom? One life - your life - live it!0

Hi,black cat.Welcome aboard :money:
My OH and I have separate budgets. Each month this thread is me accounting for the money we have decided to allocate to the main household budget-groceries,school excursions, treats, petrol, haircuts, etc.
My partner's spending doesn't come into this for me.If it did,I am sure I would never reach target.

Thanks Kerri. He is on board but isn't as organised as he could be sometimes - he wouldn't necessarily buy things he shouldn't but might buy the milk on a NSD! 😊0
