I agree with Nargle on the planned spend front marmite sometimes we need to spend in order to save...if that makes any sense.

You've got four days left to get two more nsds -it is possible!gothrockchic1 wrote: »Another NSD for me today but I seemed to have lost count!
Marmite can you please enlighten me? Thank you x
Having consulted my grubby piece of paper,I can announce that you are at #9!! :j
I have to admit,it's a bit tricky now to make out the totals, since Igor made a paper plane out of it to distract poor Hubert during yesterday's maths test.Teacher AKA Ms. Nargle got her hands on it and it was pure luck that stopped her ripping it into tiny shreds and throwing it into the bin!It is a bit scrunched up though.:eek:0 -

Wow,I've never heard of the seven Ps.
Honestly, the items that I bought were such a bargain.Ok,six beautiful Indian/Thai silk scarves in various muted colours was maybe excessive, but there are certainly at least three people that I could give one to as a present, leaving maybe one or two for me,or as a future present for someone in years to come. The large, heavy cotton 'seersucker' designed blanket in muted colours is beautiful.I was able to say to myself that it was a want, and not a need, but I gave in...I know that in the future I wouldn't ever consider buying it at full price (189 francs!),but 30 francs is affordable, and I just love it.The scarves cost between 60 and 80 francs, and had all been reduced to 20 francs : a super bargain.
I do [STRIKE]sometimes[STRIKE][/STRIKE][/STRIKE] often buy extravagantly.I have been told by a doctor that this is a form of OCD.For example, having not bought a bra for a few years,I recently bought five of them.I certainly didn't need five.
The last few days, when out shopping, even if it were for sale- price items,I definitely could feel a high.
I've completely lost track of things in my budget account. The totals don't add up,and it's a bit of a nightmare.I'm hoping to get it sorted out today, after having spent about three hours yesterday getting more and more bogged down.
I'm 99% sure that my recent purchases haven't put me in the red though.
The great thing about having a budget for lots of different things is that,if I'm short for one thing,I can sneak money from another budget to cover it.Saver-upper wrote: »My,it seems ages since I have been here.
Aaawww, you missed out a great little tea party yesterday.
Igor is going through a 'Heston' phase and made us some yummy pilchard fairy cakes.
I think that there are a quite a few left, suprisingly.Would you like me to get you one? :rotfl:0 -
Well I'm sorry to say I'm having a disastrous month. I really need to have a stern word with myself.
Plan for next month to ensure I spend less and have more NSD's
1) meal plan - So I don't pop to the shops.
2) write shopping lists. - so I remember everything and don't pop to the shops
3) don't take money to work. - the residents run a tuck shop and I spend daily there too.
Right off to do the above meal plan and shopping list and will pop over to oct thread this weekend.
Hope all are well.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Yesterday was, amazingly enough, #13.I'm hoping for an nsd weekend.
The front page has been updated.
We are a super total of 39 active participants, and have a great total of 360 nsds, which means a fab average of 9.2 nsds each! :j:j
The 'point 2' was clumsily disected by Hubert during Biology. He can't do precision work with his hooves.0 -

I'm sorry that you're having a tough time.Still 5 nsds is better than none.
It's true that more than half the battle is being organised, which is not always straightforward, especially when you have a lot going on ie life in general.
Let me go off and get you a nice cuppa.
Would you like a biscuit with that?0 -

I used to hate the way that nights made me feel 'zombiefied'.I used to do 12 hour nights, but stopped doing them in 2006 for health reasons.I totally get what you say about how it getting darker sooner is a big influence.I hope that you sleep well today. Is it your last night?
[/QUOTE]
Yes Marmite it was my last night on Thursday
Had a right hectic day yesteryear after finishing in the morning and slept like a log last night
Will get used to getting up in the dark I guess- My mum got some 'sensor' things from somewhere so her lights come on when it gets dark-might see if I can find any anywhere so at least there is light when I get up

:eek:Do not read if you're squeamish!
Years ago, when I was a teenager and we lived in the country,we had six cats.We got hardened to finding sweet little presents on the doorstep -rabbit entrails were a favourite. The worst I think was a nubby rabbit nose plus whiskers.
The mummy cat was a great provider for her kittens and used to heave the odd dead rabbit through my open bedroom window and store it under my bed.I learnt to check under the bed every day.[/QUOTE]
Marmite now ranks alongside Doctor Who for giving me nightmares of what's under the bed

I found that all that really helped me, popping to the shop for 'just one thing' was killing me and I find it a great help to leave money at home. Took me a while to get back into the habit of it but coming in here helps
