Hi guys I am back with another update, I have had another job offer this time at Subway I am hoping to start there in November, just waiting for a definite start date, my back is getting better by the day, how do I stand with handing in my notice whole on sick leave
Thanks

Hi TT,
Congrats on the new job (I heart Subway btw)
By my understanding, you can resign at any point - you being signed off sick makes no difference.
You will need to "work" your notice but you might still be signed off sick for this - your notice would not extend because you are off sick for part or all of it.
If you're going to be signed off until your leave expires, you might be able to negotiate an early release from your current employer -only you would know if that would be a plus.
Not to cast a shadow - Has subway taken references already? If not, is there a risk they may change their mind about hiring you after they hear about your current period of sickness? That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

IT will seem odd to kfc that your on sick leave and then you suddenly have another job to go to. Are subway aware of your sick leaveMortgage free wannabe
Actual mortgage stating amount £75,150
Overpayment paused to pay off cc
Starting balance £66,565.45
Current balance £58,108
Cc around 8k.0 -
They are aware of my sick leave, and said it's fine, KFC know i was looking for another job due to lack of hours0

Ok I am staying at KFC as Subway job fell through, I am only doing 21.5 hours next week, I really font know how much longer I can live on these hours
I am looking for another job, be it full-time or part-time, with part-time being done alongside KFC
Only gotta hold out until April, if I can manage that long0 -
Sorry to hear that, I know you would have preferred to move.
Looking for the upside, it's going to be a bit of a pig with travel time and all the shifting about, but part of it comes down to 'the better the devil you know' - You've built a reputation at work now (from your posts for hard work and willingness), you know the job, and you know what's expected. Those are all valuable things.
If you want to pick up a second job, at least you know how it would fit around what's expected at kfc. And it's not a bad time to be looking given the extra work that always comes up around christmas.
I know your experience is now in food, but don't sell yourself short when it comes to transferable skills into retail more broadly.
Good luckThat sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Just wanted to let you know, in my part of the UK, Tesco seem to have a large (temp) job recruitment going on, average shift for 15 hours. Could work alongside the KFC contract?
Is this something happening near you?
A large % of those that were taken on last year, xmas temp where offered a permanent contract.
Might be worth an application???
Good Luck0 -
