I am starting at my Temporary store on Tuesday, I am doing 33 hours next week0

Well done, I've read this from the start. It's great to see that you enjoy it. Not my cup of tea but we all like different things. Bet you will be a SM soon then assistant manager, then a store manager and then Area Manager? You will have to let us know!0

I will of course left you all know how it goes, thanks for your support & I am glad I have been inspiring people too0

Good for you. I took a ZHC last year to get off JSA last year, I was never offered less than 18 hours a week. 18 months later I'm now working for the NHS on a Band 1, full-time and permanent contract (waiting for Band 2 or 3 opportunity).0

I am just updating you guys as the store I was working in has closed down for good, so I have been moved atound a bit and my hours have been messed up although HO promised me they would stay the same, so I am thinking of leaving (Store I am at now is over 1 hour away on public transport)
I have an interview at McDonalds on 16th Oct, so I am hoping to get that one as it is closer to my home (about 10-15 mins on bus, or 25 mins on bike or I could walk 45 mins too)
I had an interview last week for a customer service advisor at KnowHow, but I was not given the job as I do not have enough customer facing experience (being a cook, that is obvious)
Currently i am off work with a bad back, awaiting a scan on my back, so I am on ssp at the moment, does anyone know if I can get any benefits to "top up" my ssp
So I just thought you guys would like to know how I am doing
Thanks

Also before anyone says it I am not going to leave KFC without having another job to go to0

Sorry you are suffering with your back and sorry to hear that you have been messed about with your hours lately. It's good to hear you are still positive and are looking forward
Don't forget that now you have got some experience under your belt there are more opportunities open to you. Look also at smaller independent places, esp if you want to gain more skills
I really do hope this is just a blip and you do continue moving forward
Good luck0 -
Fair play to you OP. I had read this thread when it started, good to see its still going?
Just out of interest do you have your own place?
How long have you been signed off for?
What refreshing to hear is that despite all the change and travel etc, you still have the enthusiasm to build a career.
Good luck in the coming weeks....0 -

I have applied for HB & CT support so waiting to see what I need to do0
