Price collectors will have an easy task for Poundland ... even I could keep up with manually doing that one
.

You think? But will they pick up all the items?:undecided:
In fact, this now leads nicely into what I was going to start off with today (before I decided to go and try and catch up and responded to a few posts). Northern Ireland, sorry, please ignore much of what I'm saying today as it's about Morries from yesterday.
So...drumroll:rotfl:...
This is what I would have been posting yesterday evening if I had been able to do so.
You know that I was here earlier, though fortunately I didn't encounter the scene pictured:
http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/wrexham-asda-one-man-hurt-6755142
And, before then, I was in the Morries in the same town. When I arrived and parked in the car park (free car park:j:j), my first thought on looking at the store building was "Oh, what a small store.". However, it turned out like No 10 Downing Street when I arrived in - not that I've ever been inside No 10 but the analogy of its front door, the classic British understatement, that, when you open it up and go inside, its all state banquet areas and a much larger house than the front door suggests.
It was quite a big store - it seemed bigger than the larger of my usual ones, but I think that was because of the layout. All the fresh produce in lots of different segments in the entrance and, for example once you were near the butcher's counter, I think it looked big because you could see all the aisles more clearly than I can in my usual store, so could see a lot more.
But, that, though - imagine having to collect the price of every single (non-grocery*) item in the store. It does seem a huge task to me and I don't know how they complete it within a day. When I'm there, I'm taking note of the information of a tiny fraction of the items - those that look to be either good value or fairly 'low'-priced items in the first place (e.g. normal prices on "Savers" products). But...of course, if I spot one better - and I do look at every item, in theory anyway:o, every non-grocery, even if I only note or really retain the details of the ones that were 'good' (or better!:D) - I look at every item and if I spot a better one, like those M standard range Chicken Wings yesterday, then I note those and not the Savers.
Everything 'all over the place' in the store - though I suspect mostly because it was a different layout to my normal store - for which I was in full expectation of and well-prepared to deal with! And the other part because all stores consciously place items people will need in a general shop away from each other, in totally different places, in order to have people going through as many parts of the store as possible (and thus having the products on all the aisles they visit being able to 'sell' to them).
But in particular I thought all those Schwartz packets and all those small containers of herbs and spices - imagine having to scan the whole lot! I can see why they miss items off the APG more clearly than I already did before, numerous items and the odd ones here and there that they miss (although my contention is, if I were doing it using their method as opposed to my current ones, I would be far less likely to miss things), although unfortunately some of the items they miss are otherwise good ones that we want to compare. Though this sounds like I am defending them, I'm not saying that the N/As are welcome on items we want to compare (indeed the very opposite), though sometimes I do like it when they appear to miss items that way more expensive in Morries (I say "appear to" as, on the odd occasion, it can be a slight difference of approach between what I'm considering to be comparable and what msm is considering - though I hope I'm following their criteria as closely as possible, and the successful comparisons that have come from my lists have shown that).
I can see why they miss things and using the same store as one that they (for the APG, this doesn't relate to T PP) very strongly likely used at least at the beginning of August, there are the odd insights and possible explanations here and there as to why certain things may not have been picked up. More of which throughout the afternoon no doubt...:rotfl::rotfl::)
*That, basically, means skipping only about one or two aisles.0 -

Potential DTD on Karcher power washer and window cleaner - these were on offer over the bank holiday at £50 in big purpose built/printed display cases in T - now back up to £79.99 on the power washer. DTD will depend on whether the display case has been suitably blanked out but I would think worth checking if you are instore (I haven't hit one as display case and posters covered
).
There were other items on offer just over the bank holiday so other potential items?

In one store I just happened to be passing the SEL said £50 too. Did you know this offer finished on Tuesday ... I have been practicing my surprised face.
Needless to say I now have a K2 Compact ...

If anyone does notice in future, on a Monday or Wednesday, any people in their Morries store, who are not wearing Morries uniforms, and seem to be scanning a lot of items in succession (maybe the same one three times then moving on to the next, who knows?!?), do let us know on here! Not that I'll be able to travel all the way out to your store next time:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
And, if you spot me, seemingly aimlessly looking around, more attentive to the products than to the people around, well I might give you a used bus ticket or something:rotfl::rotfl::D. Big sign: "Do not disturb.":rotfl::o;):o
:rotfl:No, I'm not that anti-social, just concentrating on doing a certain task!:beer::cool:0 -
All round my way there have been signs springing up saying that various roads are going to be closed for the Tour of Britain. I've just looked at the map and it goes past the top of my road
I might have to not be in work that day, getting home is going to be a complete nightmare
But it would be silly not to watch something like that so close to home :jI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. If you haven't already done, note the information on the fantastic new M lists! Some of the extra information explanation will be removed in the next few days and the Avs M list may go back into one post (currently exceeding character limit), with the bold items going into normal and 'disappearing' into the list, so if you want to know what's been added, have a look!:)
(There's a reason why the Nouvelles have seemingly been 'missed' - they haven't been - they just didn't make the grade - and now already on my 'to do' list to post about and explain on that.)
Thank you!:)
And yet I have expensive wines on the lists!:eek:...0 -
Just taken the kids to see how to train a dragon 2 and I enjoyed it as well:cool::)0
